This study focuses on enhancing solar energy capture efficiency by introducing innovative hybrid nanofluids for use in solar thermal collectors, whose performance largely depends on the absorption properties of the working fluid. The newly developed hybrid nanofluids, MXene/NH2-UiO66 (Zr) (noted as MX/UO66) and MXene/MIL-88B (Fe) (noted as MX/ML88), were synthesized using an in-situ solvothermal method, combining annealed Ti3C2Tx MXenes with water-stable metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). These nanofluids achieved high efficiency at low concentrations, providing both economic and performance benefits.

The present study describes a novel double-modified strategy for developing high-performance thin-film composite reverse osmosis (TFC-RO) membranes by incorporating titanium-based metal organic frameworks (NH-MIL-125) and functionalised multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) into the support layer and selective layer, respectively. Initially, the support layer was subjected to successive modifications using NH-MIL-125 mixed with polysulfone (PSF) in dimethylformamide DMF solution to investigate their impact on the performance and properties of the support layer and resultant TFC-RO membranes. Results indicated that the new structure of the modified support layer had significant influences on the developed TFC-RO membranes.

Background: Accurate individualized assessment of preeclampsia risk enables the identification of patients most likely to benefit from initiation of low-dose aspirin at 12 to 16 weeks of gestation when there is evidence for its effectiveness, and enables the guidance of appropriate pregnancy care pathways and surveillance.

Objective: The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of artificial neural network models for the prediction of preterm preeclampsia (<37 weeks' gestation) using patient characteristics available at the first antenatal visit and data from prenatal cell-free DNA screening. This paper presents the application of solar energy as a renewable resource in gel electromembrane extraction (G-EME). The extraction driving force (electrical field) generated from solar energy is stored through photovoltaic panels and significantly contributes to reducing the emission of greenhouse gasses. Moreover, the replacement of the polypropylene membrane and organic extracting solvents with biodegradable agarose membrane and the aqueous extracting solutions makes the presented approach compatible with the principles of green chemistry.

Two modes of electromembrane extraction (EME) were evaluated in this work, one using deep eutectic solvents (DESs) as liquid membrane, and another was gel electromembrane extraction (G-EME) based on solid agarose membrane. Both EME modes have eliminated organic solvents and are recognized as green strategies. Unlike classic EME in which polypropylene membrane and organic extracting solvents play an essential role in the extraction process, new modes of EME are based on biodegradable membranes and aqueous extracting solutions.

We here present an efficient approach for the tandem extraction of psychotropic drugs using biodegradable materials. In this regard, gel electromembrane extraction (G-EME) was combined with the emulsification-based microextraction (ME) technique by rhamnolipid bioaggregates as a green extraction approach. Fetal lower urinary tract obstruction (LUTO), which often results in marked perinatal morbidity and mortality, is caused by a heterogeneous group of anatomical defects that lead to blockage of the urethra. The classic prenatal presentation of LUTO includes megacystis with hydronephrosis. While mild forms of the disease can be associated with favorable outcomes, more severe disease commonly leads to dysplastic changes in the fetal kidneys, and ultimately oligohydramnios, which can result in secondary pulmonary hypoplasia and renal failure at birth.
