Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that regulates the signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) signaling pathway. Deregulation of JAK2 signaling has previously been observed in hematologic malignancies, including erythroleukemia. In the present study, an aminopyridine derivative compound, KRC-180, exhibited direct inhibition of the JAK2 protein at the catalytic site, as demonstrated using kinase activity assays and docking analyses.

A qualitative systematic review was performed to identify associations of obesity and dyslipidemia with intake of sodium, fat, and sugar among Koreans. We reviewed 6 Korean research databases (KMbase, KoreaMed, NDSL, DBpia, RISS, KISS) with the keywords "sodium intake," "fat intake," and "sugar intake." Total of 11 studies were investigated in this present study.

Therefore, we investigated the role of CCR5 during lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute kidney injury. CCR5-deficient (CCR5-/-) and wild-type (CCR5+/+) mice, both aged about 10 months, had acute renal injury induced by intraperitoneal injection of LPS (10 mg/kg).

Case report of pediatric gastroenteritis due to CTX-M-15 extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing Salmonella enterica serotype enteritidis.

A clinical isolate of Salmonella enterica serotype Enteritidis in Korea was found to produce the extended-spectrum beta-lactamase CTX-M-15. The isolate was recovered in 2008 from the stool of a 3-yr-old boy with gastroenteritis. A comparison of effectiveness of bladder training and pelvic muscle exercise on female urinary incontinence.

This study compared the effectiveness of bladder training versus pelvic muscle exercises in the treatment of urinary incontinence in women. It was revealed that the two intervention groups showed improvement compared with the control group, but differed in their effects on outcome measures. The pelvic muscle exercise group was more effective in increasing the peak and the average pressures of pelvic muscle contraction.
