The high concentration of nitrogen dioxide (NO) is to blame for West Java's poor Air Quality Index (AQI). So, this study aims to determine the influence of industrial activity as reflected by the value of its imports and exports, wind speed, and ozone (O) on the high concentration of tropospheric NO. The method used is the econometric Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) approach to capture the existence of a short-term and long-term relationship between tropospheric NO and its predictor variables.

The method is based on a discrete-time stochastic augmented compartmental model that describes the virus transmission. A two-stage estimation method, which combines the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) to estimate the reported state variables (active and removed cases) and a low pass filter based on a rational transfer function to remove short term fluctuations of the reported cases, is used with case uncertainties that are assumed to follow a Gaussian distribution.

The aim is to quantify heterogeneity in the numbers of secondary infections. To this end, we estimate the basic reproduction number [Formula: see text] and the overdispersion parameter [Formula: see text] at two regions in Indonesia: Jakarta-Depok and Batam.

To cover the lack of spatial sense in the method, one uses statistical modeling, reaction-diffusion in continuous medium, or multi-patch model to depict epidemic activities in several connected locations. Here, we show that an epidemic model that is set as an organized system on networks can yield Turing patterns and other interesting behaviors that are sensitive to the initial conditions.

In our model we include both dispersive and saturable gain and show that levels of gain/loss saturation can have a significant impact on the bistable operation of a nonlinear PT Bragg grating based on GaAs material. The hysteresis of the nonlinear PT Bragg grating is analyzed for different levels of gain and loss and different saturation levels.

Under appropriate conditions, a donut-shaped single-charged vortex evolves into a stable discrete gap vortex soliton, but a double-charged vortex turns into a self-trapped quadrupole-like structure. Spectrum measurement and numerical analysis suggest that the gap vortex soliton does not bifurcate from the edge of the Bloch band, quite different from previously observed gap spatial solitons.

We consider a discrete sine-Gordon equation with a phase shift. We analyze the stability of a lattice kappa kink which is the ground state of the system. The dependence of the localized mode frequency of a kappa kink on the topological charge is analyzed numerically and analytically.

In particular, we focus on the study of dark solitons with several holes characterized by the number of zeros in the uncoupled case. Such structures reveal interesting behaviors, such as stable intersite dark solitons.
