Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is a skin disease caused by mast cells that produce inflammatory mediators. Immune checkpoint receptors such as program death-1 (PD-1) and T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain 3 (TIM-3) are essential for the pathophysiology of many autoimmune and allergic diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of PD-1 and TIM-3 in CSU patients and their relationship to the anti-inflammatory cytokines (TGF-β and IL-10).

Article Synopsis
  • * Out of 146 isolates, 8.9% were ESBL-producers and 15.75% were AmpC-producers, with common resistant strains identified across all sections of the wastewater facility, particularly in effluent samples.
  • * A significant number of these isolates showed multi-drug resistance, with the highest resistance rates against ampicillin, nalidixic acid, and cephalexin, raising concerns about antibiotic resistance in treated waste.

Since 2019, the outbreak of coronavirus with acute respiratory symptoms has caused an epidemic worldwide. Transmission of the disease through respiratory droplets was announced as the main mode of transmission in 2020. But in this study, we discussed the method of indirect transmission of the virus through sewage.

The presence of SARS-CoV-2 virus in water resources and the transmission of diseases caused by it is one of the factors threatening the quality of water resources. This study for the first time concentrates on the presence of SARS-CoV-2 in water resources an urban location. In the present study, the samples were collected from known depth (30-50 cm) of rivers, dams and lakes.

Homogeneous dispersion of graphene into thermoplastic polymer matrices during melt-mixing is still challenging due to its agglomeration and weak interfacial interactions with the selected polymer matrix. In this study, an ideal dispersion of graphene within the PA66 matrix was achieved under high shear rates by thermokinetic mixing. The flow direction of graphene was monitored by the developed numerical methodology with a combination of its rheological behaviors.

One of the simplest and most effective individual measures is to wear a mask to prevent the spread of respiratory droplets from carriers to healthy people and patients admitted to corona wards and their staff. This research aimed to investigate the contamination of internal and external surfaces of various masks used by patients and staff with SARS coronavirus, as well as the possibility of airborne transmission in Imam Khomeini Hospital, Ardabil. For this purpose, twenty-five staff members and ten patients participated voluntarily in this cross-sectional study.

The prevalent respiratory viruses such as SARS-CoV-2 probably persist for a long time on fomites and environmental surfaces. Some recent studies have detected SARS-CoV-2 RNA on the surface of cell phones, door handles and other items in the inhabited sites of confirmed cases. For the aim of this study, a total of 50 environmental surface samples of SARS-CoV-2 was collected from Imam Khomeini Hospital in Ardabil.

Trihalomethanes (THMs) have been proven to be potentially genotoxic and mutagenic for human. The aim of this study was to characterize the THMs spatiotemporal distribution and its carcinogenic risk potential in Ardabil water distribution system. Water samples were collected over consecutive months from twenty-six points in the city of Ardabil from April 2016 to March 2017.

For this data article the adsorption of Basic Blue 41 (BB 41) dye by activated carbon derived from filamentous algae (AAC) of available in agriculture waste as cheap adsorbents were examined. Activated carbon has been widely used as an adsorbent regard to its massive specific surface area, high porosity, reusability and thermal stability for the removal of pollutants from effluent. These filamentous algae grow widely in irrigation streams, causing decreasing speed of water flow and are not even eaten by livestock so are considered agricultural wastes.

A controlled technique to produce a precise volume of fluid species, such as water droplets, has critical importance in a variety of industrial applications. Electric field provided a well-established method to produce charged water droplets with a controlled volume. The coalescence of produced charged water droplets, however, impedes the efficiency of electric field-assisted methods.

Microbial quality and physical-chemical properties of recreational spas were surveyed to investigate the health aspect of the spas' water. A total of 195 samples were collected from pools and springs of the spas in five sites from Ardebil Province of Iran. The effects of an independent factor defined as 'condition' and its component sub-factors (i.

Gamma rays pose enough energy to induce chemical changes that may be biologically important for the normal functioning of body cells. The external exposure of human beings to natural environmental gamma radiation normally exceeds that from all man-made sources combined. In this research natural background gamma dose rates and corresponding annual effective doses were determined for selected cities of Ardebil province.
