With the advent of public reporting of clinical performance for physicians, the need for accurate documentation is essential. This study tested the hypothesis that a short tutorial on five key documentation tips for a group of colorectal surgeons could significantly improve their reported clinical performance. Data was collected on a total of 626 consecutive inpatients before and after the introduction of a short tutorial focusing on five key documentation tips to a group of colorectal surgeons.

The wireless enteroscopy capsule (WEC) was approved for noninvasive visualization of small bowel. We report an unusual case of a previously healthy man with history of bowel resection and anastomosis who developed small bowel obstruction after ingestion of a WCE. At operation, an anastomotic stricture site was noted and the WEC was proximal to this stricture, causing obstruction.

Hepatic portal vein gas (HPVG) is found as branching gas extending to near the periphery of the liver. Increased utilization of CT may identify HPVG in more patients. In the past HPVG was associated with acute abdomen and high mortality.
