Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is regarded as the most specific and sensitive of imaging modalities for the detection and progression of osteonecrosis (ON). We present MRI progression of ON in the knee in a 40-year-old female patient with Sjogren disease-related interstitial nephritis recently initiated on corticosteroids for deteriorating renal function. This case report correlates the degree of surrounding marrow edema with the patient's symptoms.

Understanding and measuring patient expectations of health care is central to improving patient satisfaction and delivering patient-centered care. However, most empiric research in this field has focused on measuring patient expectations for specific diseases only. Patient expectations common to a variety of settings and clinical contexts need to be better understood to design measures with wider utility.

Article Synopsis
  • The study examined autoimmune events in 554 patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) from 2012 to 2019, finding that 123 developed immune-related adverse events.
  • Of those with adverse events, 17% had pre-existing autoimmune diseases, and 26% had to temporarily stop ICIs due to autoimmune symptoms; the most common issues involved endocrine and skin disorders.
  • Overall, while autoimmune diseases occurred in patients on ICIs, the complete stop of treatment due to these issues was rare, and efficacy was notably better in melanoma patients who experienced immune toxicity.

In this paper, the required models and methods to analyze and quantify the potential demand for urban air mobility (UAM) complementing public transport and possible impacts were defined and applied to the Munich Metropolitan region. An existing agent-based transport model of the study area were used and extended to cover socio-demographic changes up to the year 2030 and intermodal UAM services. An incremental logit model for UAM was derived to simulate demand for this new mode.

Background: Agitated patients constitute 10% of all emergency psychiatric treatment. Management guidelines, the preferred treatment of clinicians differ in opinion and practice. In Lebanon, the use of the triple therapy haloperidol plus promethazine plus chlorpromazine (HPC) is frequently used but no studies involving this combination exists.

Unlabelled: A favorable benefit-risk profile remains an essential requirement for marketing authorization of medicinal drugs and devices. Furthermore, prior subjective, implicit and inconsistent ad hoc benefit-risk assessment methods have rightly evolved towards more systematic, explicit or "structured" approaches. Contemporary structured benefit-risk evaluation aims at providing an objective assessment of the benefit-risk profile of medicinal products and a higher transparency for decision making purposes.

In Brazil's Atlantic Forest (AF) biodiversity conservation is of key importance since the fungal pathogen Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) has led to the rapid loss of amphibian populations here and worldwide. The impact of Bd on amphibians is determined by the host's immune system, of which the skin microbiome is a critical component. The richness and diversity of such cutaneous bacterial communities are known to be shaped by abiotic factors which thus may indirectly modulate host susceptibility to Bd.

Background: Examining whether any association exists between addiction to video games and cognitive abilities in children could inform ongoing prevention and management of any possible harm. The objective of this study was to investigate the associations between addiction to video games, and memory, attention and learning abilities among a sample of Lebanese school children.

Methods: This cross-sectional study, conducted between January and May 2019, enrolled 566 school children aged between 9 and 13 years.

Purpose: The purpose of this work was to report on the geometric uncertainty for patients treated with multi-leaf collimator (MLC) tracking for lung SABR to verify the accuracy of the system.

Methods: Seventeen patients were treated as part of the MLC tracking for lung SABR clinical trial using electromagnetic beacons implanted around the tumor acting as a surrogate for target motion. Sources of uncertainties evaluated in the study included the surrogate-target positional uncertainty, the beam-surrogate tracking uncertainty, the surrogate localization uncertainty, and the target delineation uncertainty.

Congenital fibrosis of the extraocular muscles (CFEOM) is characterized by ptosis and non-progressive restrictive ophthalmoplegia. CFEOM1 is a stereotypical phenotype with isolated bilateral ptosis, bilateral ophthalmoplegia, absent upgaze, and globe infraduction. CFEOM3 is a more variable phenotype that can include unilateral disease, absent ptosis, residual upgaze, and/or orthotropia.

Purpose: To assess the relationship of smoking (cigarettes or waterpipe), alcohol drinking, alexithymia, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, stress, social phobia, emotional intelligence, impulsivity, insomnia, physical health, and loneliness with problematic social media use (PSMU) in a sample of Lebanese citizens.

Methods: This cross-sectional study enrolled 466 participants (January-May 2019).

Results: Higher anxiety, alcohol use disorder, and social phobia were correlated with elevated PSMU, while older age was associated with lower PSMU.

Background: Both bullying victimization and perpetration were associated with depression, social phobia, physical and psychological child abuse and Internet addiction in Lebanon. The prevalence of bullying in Lebanon is alarming, with 50% of school-aged children and adolescents reporting being bullied at some point. The high rate of both bullying victimization can be reflective of the inefficacy of current prevention and intervention policies in targeting associated problematic individual and contextual factors.

Background And Purpose: The purpose of this work is to present the clinical experience from the first-in-human trial of real-time tumor targeting via MLC tracking for stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy (SABR) of lung lesions.

Methods And Materials: Seventeen patients with stage 1 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) or lung metastases were included in a study of electromagnetic transponder-guided MLC tracking for SABR (NCT02514512). Patients had electromagnetic transponders inserted near the tumor.

In this paper we present a phylogenetic analysis of the treefrogs of the Boana pulchella Group with the goals of (1) providing a rigorous test of its monophyly; (2) providing a test of relationships supported in previous studies; and (3) exploring the relationships of the several species not included in previous analyses. The analyses included>300 specimens of 37 of the 38 species currently included in the group, plus 36 outgroups, exemplars of the diversity of Boana and the other genera of the hylid tribe Cophomantini. The dataset included eight mitochondrial genes (12S, 16S, CytB, COI, ND1, tRNA, tRNA, and tRNA) and five nuclear genes (RHO, TYR, RAG-1, CXCR4, SIAH1).

It was discovered that the relation between certain personality traits and nicotine dependence differs among ethnicities and cultures; therefore, this study was conducted to determine which temperaments and personality traits are associated with smoking dependence in order to contribute to the development of effective and targeted interventions for smoking dependence within the Lebanese population. A cross-sectional study was carried out between March and April 2020 among a sample of Lebanese adults from all Lebanese governorates. The sample included (N = 501) divided as follows: 62 (12.

Members of the Leptodactylus mystaceus species complex are widely distributed in forests and open formations of South America east of the Andes. Species of the complex are morphologically similar or indistinguishable among each other, but acoustic data have been the cornerstone for species discrimination across their geographic ranges. In this paper, we re-examine the monophyly, species diversity, and relationships in the L.

Background: The number of very old patients admitted to intensive care units for acute coronary syndromes has increased gradually, but these patients are under-represented in randomized clinical trials.

Aim: The aim of this study was to analyse mortality of nonagenarians compared with octogenarians admitted to an intensive care unit for acute coronary syndromes, to describe their management and to identify prognostic factors.

Methods: Patients aged≥80years admitted to an intensive care unit (Croix-Rousse University Hospital, Lyon) with a diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome from 1 January 2013 to 31 December 2016 were included retrospectively.
