Purpose: To evaluate the clinical outcomes in the use of a synthetic medial meniscus implant in patients symptomatic after medial meniscectomy and not responsive to nonoperative treatment.

This study aimed to compare the acute inflammatory response following high-intensity eccentric exercise between resistance-trained young and master athletes with similar performance levels. Resistance-trained young (n=8; 22±2 years) and master (n=8; 52±4 years) male athletes of a similar performance level performed a standardized high-intensity eccentric squat exercise protocol (10 sets of half-squats at 70% of 1-repetition maximum). The serum concentration of 20 biomarkers related to tissue damage, inflammation, remodeling, and repair was measured at baseline, immediately after exercise, and over a 72 h recovery period.

The integration of diverse chemical tools like small-molecule inhibitors, activity-based probes (ABPs), and proteolysis targeting chimeras (PROTACs) advances clinical drug discovery and facilitates the exploration of various biological facets of targeted proteins. The direct and sequence-dependent investigation of photochemical processes in DNA on the way to cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers (CPDs) as DNA damage requires the probing by photochemically different photosensitizers. The C-nucleosides of xanthone, thioxanthone, 3-methoxyxanthone, and triphenylene as photosensitizers were synthesized by Heck couplings and incorporated into ternary photoactive DNA architectures. Purpose: The purpose of this in-vitro study was to examine the kinematics of an artificial, free-floating medial meniscus replacement device under dynamic loading situations and different knee joint states.

Methods: A dynamic knee simulator was used to perform dynamic loading exercises on three neutrally aligned and three 10° valgus aligned (simulating a medial openwedge high tibial osteotomy - MOWHTO) left human cadaveric knee joints. The knee joints were tested in three states (intact, conventional notchplasty, extended notchplasty) while 11 randomised exercises were simulated (jump landing, squatting, tibial rotation and axial ground impacts at 10°, 30° and 60° knee joint flexion) to investigate the knee joint and implant kinematics by means of rigidly attached reflective marker sets and an according motion analysis.
