Objective: To evaluate the relevance of established surgical risk calculators for predicting complications in patients undergoing percutaneous lung cryoablation (PLC).
Methods: The institution's database was queried for PLC procedures from March 2015 to May 2024, excluding those patients with concomitant local therapies or five or more lesions treated in a single setting. Demographics, frailty metrics as defined by the surgical literature, and procedural variables were collected.
Background: Liver venous deprivation (LVD) is known to induce better future liver remnant (FLR) hypertrophy than portal vein embolization (PVE). The role of LVD, compared with PVE, in inducing FLR hypertrophy and allowing safe hepatectomy for patients with extensive colorectal liver metastases (CLM) and high-risk factors for inadequate hypertrophy remains unclear.
Methods: Patients undergoing LVD (n = 22) were matched to patients undergoing PVE (n = 279) in a 1:3 ratio based on propensity scores, prior to planned hepatectomy for CLM at a single center (1998-2023).
Short interfering RNA (siRNA) represents a rapidly expanding class of marketed oligonucleotide therapeutics. Due to its double-stranded nature, the characterization of siRNA is twofold: (i) at the single-strand (denaturing) level for impurity profiling and (ii) at the intact (nondenaturing) level to confirm duplex formation and quantify excess single strands (including single strand-derived impurities). While denaturing analysis can be carried out using conventional ion-pair reversed-phase liquid chromatography (IP-RPLC), nondenaturing characterization of siRNA is a significantly less straightforward task.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed our renal ablation database between January 2007 and June 2021 and only included patients with solitary-biopsy-proven cT1a RCC (≤4 cm) who underwent MRI-guided cryoablation. We excluded patients with genetic syndromes, bilateral RCC, recurrent RCC or benign lesions, those without pathologically proven RCC lesions and patients who underwent radiofrequency ablation or CT-guided cryoablation.

Technical difficulties with right adrenal vein (RAV) catheterization can lead to erroneous results. Purpose Of Review: This review will describe the various applications, benefits, risks, and approaches of conventional irreversible electroporation (IRE), as well as highlight the new technological developments of this procedure along with their clinical applications.
Recent Findings: Minimally invasive image-guided percutaneous IRE ablation has emerged as a newer, non-thermal ablation technique for tumors in the solid organs, particularly within the liver, pancreas, kidney, and prostate. IRE allows for ablation near heat-sensitive structures, including major blood vessels and nerves, and is not susceptible to the heat sink effect.
The widespread use of imaging as well as the efforts conducted through screening campaigns has dramatically increased the early detection rate of lung cancer. Historically, the management of lung cancer has heavily relied on surgery. However, the increased proportion of patients with comorbidities has given significance to less invasive therapeutic options like minimally invasive surgery and image-guided thermal ablation, which could precisely target the tumor without requiring general anesthesia or a thoracotomy.

Purpose: This paper aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the temporary redirection of blood flow of hepatoenteric collaterals using a balloon catheter in the common hepatic artery (CHA) to prevent the nontarget deposition of Y microspheres.
Materials And Methods: In this retrospective single-center study of patients who received Y radioembolization (RE) from September 2010 to September 2015, diagnostic (67 patients) or treatment (72 patients) angiograms with the attempted use of a balloon catheter in the CHA to temporarily direct blood flow away from the hepatoenteric arteries were analyzed. SPECT/CT nuclear scintigraphy was performed after both diagnosis and treatment.
