[Post-traumatic fibro-osseous lesion of the rib].

Post-traumatic fibro-osseous lesion is a rare benign osseous lesion usually affecting the ribs and relatively under-recognised. Histologically, it showed a bland fibrous stroma in which resided an anastomosing network of bone trabeculae, having a zonal pattern of maturation from metaplastic woven to mature lamellar bone, with or without an associated xanthomatous component. We report a well-documented case of mixed variant post-traumatic fibro-osseous lesion of the sixth rib, which was initially misdiagnosed as particular form of fibrous dysplasia associated with a xanthoma.

Posterior mediastinal paragangliomas: a report of three patients with peculiar tumours.

Paragangliomas of the mediastinum are rare neoplasms, representing less than 0.3% of mediastinal tumours and less than 2% of all paragangliomas. To date, no definitive morphologic criteria exist that correlate with the clinical outcome of these tumours.

[Primary hydatidosis of the chest wall. Report of 5 cases].

Background: Hydatidosis is an endemic affection in Tunisia. Bone echinococcosis is a relatively rare entity accounting for only 0.5-2% of all hydatid cysts in humans and chest wall is an uncommon site for the disease.

Pulmonary and mediastinal bronchogenic cysts: a clinicopathologic study of 33 cases.

Bronchogenic cysts are uncommon congenital anomalies of foregut origin and usually located within the mediastinum and the lung. A retrospective study of 33 thoracic bronchogenic cysts was undertaken to detail their clinicopathologic and radiologic features. There were 18 male and 15 female patients between 12 and 77 years of age with a mean age of 41 years.

[Endoscopic thoracic sympatecomy for hyperhidrosis].

Background: Hyperhidrosis is a benin affection representing a social and professional problems and occupational handicaps in young patient. Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy thus provides a radical treatment for severe palmar and axillary hyperhidrosis.

Aim: We describe the technique used in our institut and present results

Methods: From 1995 to 2002, 32 patients were operated on for hyperhidrosis.

[Last discovery of a congenital broncho-oeso-phageal fistula].

Background: Broncho-oesophageal fistula is rare and occurs mostly in acquired condition.

Aim: Report of a new case.

Case: We report a case of a 58-years-old woman which has, since 38 years ago, a chronic cough, recurrent bronchopulmonary suppurations and hemoptysis.

Tuberculosis of the trachea.

Tracheal tuberculosis is an uncommon localized form of tuberculosis with fewer than 150 reported cases in the literature. We report a case of tracheal stenosis caused by tuberculosis in which the diagnosis was suggested by the patient's past medical history. This patient was successfully treated with tracheal resection, adjuvant steroids and anti-tuberculous therapy.

[Desmoplastic fibroma of the rib: two case reports].

Desmoplastic fibroma is a very rare primary tumor of bone, closely related to aggressive fibromatosis of soft tissue. Although considered a benign lesion, it can be very aggressive locally and has a high rate of local recurrence after incomplete surgical excision. Radiologically, the lesion shows no distinctive features, often simulating osteosarcoma, fibrous dysplasia, or fibrosarcoma.

[Endobronchial hamartoma revealed by hemoptysis].

Unlabelled: Hamartoma is the most frequent benign tumor of the lung. Its endo bronchial location is rare. We report two cases of endo bronchial hamartoma occurring in 2 men aged 68 and 60 years respectively.
