Purpose: High-grade gliomas (HGG) represent a challenging subset of brain tumors characterized by aggressive nature and poor prognosis. Histopathology remains to be the standard for diagnosis, however, it is invasive, prone to sampling errors, and may not capture the full tumor heterogeneity and evolution over time. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the potential utility of circulating biomarkers, obtained through minimally-invasive liquid biopsies, providing an opportunity for diagnosis, prognostication, monitoring treatment response and developing targeted therapies.

Background: Studies did not recommend which position for implant overdenture poses the lowest biomechanical risk and the least chance of peri-implant bone loss and ridge resorption for those who might need a mandibular two-implant overdenture. The study objectives were to investigate the impact of implant position, in lateral incisors or canine positions, on peri-implant bone loss and posterior ridge resorption.

Aim: To compare between the rehabilitation of atrophied maxilla with fixed prosthesis using two posterior zygomatic implants and two conventional anterior implants or four implants inserted according to the all-on-four concept regarding the patient quality of life and satisfaction after one year of prosthesis insertion.

Materials And Methods: Thirty-six patients with atrophic edentulous maxillae were randomized into two groups: Group I (rehabilitated with fixed prostheses supported by two zygomatic and two conventional implants in the anterior region) and group II (fixed prostheses on four implants in the anterior region following an all-on-four concept). One year after the placement of the definitive prostheses, patients completed oral health impact profile-14 and satisfaction questionnaires.

Clay minerals in soils and rocks exhibit large volume change upon interaction with water and this behavior becomes even more complex when the strata are being stressed by the engineering and environmental loads. Therefore, a realistic prediction of the hydro-mechanical behavior of the clay-bearing strata is always a challenge due to their coupled swelling-mechanical response in the cases of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering problems, nuclear waste storage in clay-bearing rock repositories, shale gas extraction, and other uses of clay in the manufacturing industry.
