The epigenome of leukemic cells is dysregulated, and genes required for cell cycle arrest and differentiation may become repressed, which contributes to the accumulation of undifferentiated malignant blood cells. Here, we show that the Polycomb group protein CBX7 can interact with H3K9 methyltransferases EHMT1/2 and SETDB1. We aimed to assess whether combined interfering with these H3K9 methyltransferases and CBX7 could derepress target genes and thereby induce growth arrest of leukemic cells.

Background: The Screening Visual Complaints questionnaire (SVCq) is a short questionnaire to screen for visual complaints in people with Parkinson's disease (PD).

Objective: The current study aims to investigate the factor structure of the SVCq to increase the usability of this measure in clinical practice and facilitate the interpretation of visual complaints in people with PD.

Specific functions of the immune system are essential to protect us from infections caused by pathogens such as viruses and bacteria. However, as we age, the immune system shows a functional decline that can be attributed in large part to age-associated defects in hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs)-the cells at the apex of the immune cell hierarchy. Sonic hedgehog (SHH) medulloblastoma originates from the cerebellar granule neuron progenitor (CGNP) lineage, which depends on Hedgehog signaling for its perinatal expansion. Whereas SHH tumors exhibit overall deregulation of this pathway, they also show patient age-specific aberrations. We report on the time-dependent optical diffraction from ultra-high frequency laser-induced acoustic waves in thin layers of ruthenium deposited on glass substrates. We show that the thermo-optic and strain-optic effects dominate the optical response of Ru layers to a traveling longitudinal strain wave. In addition, we show the generation and detection of acoustic waves with a central frequency ranging from 130 GHz to 750 GHz on ultra-thin layers with thicknesses in the range of 1.
