Vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT) is a rare, but serious, complication of the ChAdOx1 nCOV-19 vaccine. In Australia, the diagnosis of VITT required the detection of antibodies against platelet factor 4 (PF4) in plasma using a PF4/polyanion ELISA. Half of the patients, fulfilling clinical criteria of VITT, tested positive in this ELISA and another third tested positive in platelet activation assays, highlighting limitations in the assays used for VITT.

Fitusiran, a subcutaneous investigational siRNA therapeutic, lowers antithrombin (AT) to increase thrombin generation and rebalance hemostasis in people with hemophilia. This phase 3 open-label extension study (ATLAS‑OLE, NCT03754790) evaluated safety and efficacy of antithrombin-based dose regimen (AT-DR) in males ≥ 12 years with severe hemophilia A/B, with/without inhibitors. Within an implementation trial testing strategies for scale-up of the Systems Navigation and Psychosocial Counseling (SNaP) intervention for people who inject drugs (PWID) with HIV across HIV testing clinics in Vietnam, we sought to assess if the implementation of SNaP was sustained after study support ended and to identify factors, including adaptations, that affected SNaP sustainment.

Background: In 2021, Vietnam experienced an outbreak of Lumpy skin disease (LSD), which infected 207,687 cattle and buffaloes, as officially reported, and resulted in the culling of 29,182 animals.

Aim: In this study, samples from cattle that died and showed typical signs of LSD in the Ha Tinh province of Vietnam were confirmed by three World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH)-recommended methods and further studied to compare the Vietnam and China reference strains to the new clinical cases.
