Despite being used commonly to study social behaviors, hearing of the monogamous prairie vole (Microtus ochrogaster) has never been characterized. Symptomatic, partial-thickness rotator cuff tears (sPTRCT) are problematic. This study tested the hypothesis that management of sPTRCT with injection of fresh, uncultured, unmodified, autologous, adipose-derived regenerative cells (UA-ADRCs) is safe and more effective than injection of corticosteroid even in the long run. Formamides are important feedstocks for the manufacture of many fine chemicals. State-of-the-art synthesis of formamides relies on the use of an excess amount of reagents, giving copious waste and thus poor atom-economy. We report the use of solution and solid-state P Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy combined with Density Functional Theory calculations to benchmark the covalency of actinide-phosphorus bonds, thus introducing P NMR spectroscopy to the investigation of molecular f-element chemical bond covalency. The P NMR data for [Th(PH)(Tren)] (, Tren = {N(CHCHNSiPr)}), [Th(PH)(Tren)][Na(12C4)] (, 12C4 = 12-crown-4 ether), [{Th(Tren)}(μ-PH)] (), and [{Th(Tren)}(μ-P)][Na(12C4)] () demonstrate a chemical shift anisotropy (CSA) ordering of (μ-P) > (═PH) > (μ-PH) > (-PH) and for the largest CSA for any bridging phosphido unit. The B3LYP functional with 50% Hartree-Fock mixing produced spin-orbit δ values that closely match the experimental data, providing experimentally benchmarked quantification of the nature and extent of covalency in the Th-P linkages in - via Natural Bond Orbital and Natural Localized Molecular Orbital analyses.

The production of conjugated C4-C5 dienes from biomass can enable the sustainable synthesis of many important polymers and liquid fuels. Here, we report the first example of bimetallic (Nb, Al)-atomically doped mesoporous silica, denoted as AlNb-MCM-41, which affords quantitative conversion of 2-methyltetrahydrofuran (2-MTHF) to pentadienes with a high selectivity of 91 %. The incorporation of Al and Nb sites into the framework of AlNb-MCM-41 has effectively tuned the nature and distribution of Lewis and Brønsted acid sites within the structure.

Iliac branch endograft devices offer an elegant solution to preserve perfusion to the internal iliac artery when treating aortoiliac aneurysms; however, they are difficult to perform when bilateral access is not available owing to aortoiliac anatomy or previous endovascular aortic aneurysm repair. In 2013, the Living with HIV (LHIV) Innovation team established clinical cohorts of people living with HIV in Manitoba and Newfoundland and Labrador, and they linked the data to provincial health administrative databases. Access to these data enabled researchers to conduct studies across provincial borders; contribute to a national dialogue on HIV health system performance; and give recommendations for evidence-based healthcare, health policy and public health.
