How consumer diversity determines consumption efficiency is a central issue in ecology. In the context of predation and biological control, this relationship concerns predator diversity and predation efficiency. Reduced predation efficiency can result from different predator taxa eating each other in addition to their common prey (interference due to intraguild predation).

With widespread uptake of telemonitoring and mobile health in recent years, such models of care have been increasingly described in the literature.
Objectives: This study aimed to review remote blood pressure monitoring in pregnant and postpartum women who are at high-risk for or have an established diagnosis of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, and its effect on maternal and fetal outcomes, healthcare utilization and psychosocial outcomes.
Background: Cardiac rehabilitation programmes, while demonstrating benefits, face challenges in universal adoption, particularly in New Zealand. This study evaluates the long-term impact of cardiac rehabilitation participation and attendance on survival and readmission rates in the Auckland Health District.
Objective: To examine the impact of patient participation in nurse-led lifestyle rehabilitation and physiotherapy exercise rehabilitation on key outcomes, including all-cause mortality, and all-cause, cardiac-specific, and kidney disease readmission rates.
Oxidative stress from placental ischemia/reperfusion and hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R) in preeclampsia is accompanied by Na-K pump inhibition and S-glutathionylation of its β1 subunit (GSS-β1), a modification that inhibits the pump. β3-adrenergic receptor (β3-AR) agonists can reverse GSS-β1. We examined the effects of the agonist CL316,243 on GSS-β1 and sources of H/R-induced oxidative stress in immortalized first-trimester human trophoblast (HTR-8/SVneo) and freshly isolated placental explants from normal-term pregnancies.

The focus on maternal outcome measures is more immediately obvious, with comparative and sequential data of blood pressure and urine protein excretion. In non-human primates, the data concerning birthweight requires a greater number of observations and thus will be accumulated over a longer period of time and a greater number of experimental protocols.

Herein we describe the invention and synthesis journey toward metproxybicyclone, the first commercial carbocyclic aryl-dione ACCase-inhibiting herbicide for the cost-effective management of grass weeds in dicotyledonous crops and in preplant burndown applications. Glasshouse and field experiments have shown that metproxybicyclone is safe for use on soybean, cotton, and sugar beet, among other crops.

Simple test completion rates fail to capture patient preference or experience of completing sleep diagnostic tests. We assessed preference, ease of use, convenience, and the repeatability of level I, II and III sleep diagnostic tests, using questionnaires, in pregnant women in early to mid-gestation.

The role of ICB in nodular lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin lymphoma (NLPHL) is not established. To gain insights into its potential in NLPHL, we compared TME and peripheral blood signatures between HLs using an integrative multiomic analysis.

However, failure rates are high, and funding is insufficient to solve the scientific challenges and attract researchers to antibacterial R&D. Novel methods, including artificial intelligence, have been applied to early-stage research, but these have yet to deliver new antibiotics.

Adverse airway events are associated with significant morbidity, potentially leading to hypoxic brain injury and even death. Following a review of the literature, recommendations regarding airway management in head and neck surgery were developed with multicenter, multidisciplinary agreement among all Irish head and neck units.

This review has been undertaken to provide an overview of the language, and early results of machine learning in a pregnancy and preeclampsia context. Clinicians of all backgrounds are encouraged to learn the language of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial intelligence (AI) to better understand their potential and utility to improve outcomes for women and their families.

This guideline represents an update of the Society of Obstetric Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (SOMANZ) guidelines for the management of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy 2014 and has been approved by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) under section 14A of the National Health and Medical Research Council Act 1992. In approving the guideline recommendations, NHMRC considers that the guideline meets NHMRC's standard for clinical practice guidelines.

Self-applied, unattended PSG in the home environment using Somte PSG V2 (Somte) has not been validated in pregnant women in early to mid-gestation. We undertook a study to evaluate the accuracy of Somte compared to attended PSG.

Suboptimal iodine status has been reported in young women across Europe. Although urinary iodine concentration (UIC) is a good indicator of recent exposure, it does not reflect habitual iodine intake.

Early screening of cognitive deficits in children with NDDs, particularly in preschool children, is fundamental to improving cognitive and academic outcomes. In order to determine cognitive profiles in children with ASD and ADHD, we developed accessible audiovisual instructions for an online battery of 13 cognitive tests.

Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional formative study using semi-structured In-Depth Interviews (IDI) was conducted at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH), Malawi. Data was analyzed using NVIVO™ software.
Cardiovascular disease is a major cause of mortality in women and is the leading cause of pregnancy-related mortality in Australia. This study aims to discover the extent of teaching regarding women's cardiovascular health in Australian and New Zealand medical schools. All 22 medical schools in Australia and New Zealand were approached for participation in completing this survey.

Objective: We aimed to integrate analysis of dietary patterns among 2-y-old children with indicators of dietary quality, micronutrient status, and body weight status.
Methods: Data from the 2-y follow-up of the Cork BASELINE Birth Cohort included dietary assessment using a 2-d weighed food diary, vitamin D and iron status biomarkers, and anthropometry (n = 468).
Three experiments are reported that used a new test of spatial memory in rats. The apparatus used was dual eight-arm radial mazes that were connected at one arm of each maze, with a start arm and doors to each maze. Rats could be forced to go to one maze or the other or could make a free choice between mazes.

This expends significant resources for both the patient and healthcare system. An alternative to in-clinic assessments is a remote blood pressure monitoring strategy, in which patients self-record their blood pressure at home using a validated blood pressure machine.

Sex differences in PAD are apparent, with recent data suggesting equal if not greater prevalence in women, and women having worse clinical outcomes. Why this occurs is not clear.
