Background: Cortical high-frequency activation immediately before death has been reported, raising questions about an enhanced conscious state at this critical time. Here, we analyzed an electroencephalogram (EEG) from a comatose patient during the dying process with a standard bedside monitor and spectral parameterization techniques.
Methods: We report neurophysiologic features of a dying patient without major cortical injury.
GALNT2, also known as polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase 2, is an enzyme that catalyzes the initial step of O-linked glycosylation, a crucial posttranslational modification that affects protein folding, stability, and function. Alterations in GALNT2 activity have been implicated in various diseases, such as cancer, metabolic disorders, and cardiovascular diseases, highlighting its importance in maintaining normal physiological functions. To investigate the impact of GalNT2 overexpression in vivo for the first time, we generated a conditional transgenic mouse line in which GalNT2 was expressed specifically in the pancreas.

We have developed an 11-question self-assessment test that predicts whether a team is likely to develop accessible digital solutions - or not - based on the characteristics of the development processes. Our results indicate the test can predict both successes and failures with regards to accessibility of digital solutions. As such, teams and product leaders now have an easy way to identify whether the team's knowledge, practices and mindset makes them likely to deliver accessible digital solutions.

The aim of this case-series was to assess the feasibility of a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) intervention for PTSD in people with psychosis. The study examined the possibilities and obstacles when treating this population within clinical settings.

Such C-C bond formations generally proceed smoothly and selective. In contrast, nucleophilic addition at carbon monoxide is considerably more complex and unselective due to the instability of polar metal acyl intermediates.

Densin-180, encoded by LRRC7, is the only LAP protein selectively expressed in neurons. Densin-180 is a postsynaptic scaffold at glutamatergic synapses, linking cytoskeletal elements with signalling proteins such as the α-subunit of Ca/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II.

The present work aimed to revise and validate the Prenatal Caregiving Expectations Questionnaire-Revised (PCEQ-R). Survey data from two independent samples of pregnant, primarily Danish, women (N = 300/322) were collected to 1) test the factor structure and select items for a 20-item version, and 2) confirm the factor structure, examine internal consistency, and establish initial construct validity.

The products of reactions with iPrNCNiPr and CO are consistent with the presence of reducing Mg(I) centres. Extraction with THF affords [K(THF)][(NNO)Mg-Mg(NNO)] with a structurally characterised Mg-Mg bond that was examined using density functional theory.

Their perfectly selective decarbonylations are achieved in solution at room temperature with potassium and cesium diarylamide catalysts. 1 is obtained in excellent yields directly from triethylammonium formate, which may be the product of CO scrubbing with NEt and catalytic hydrogenation.

Coordinated benzene ligands can be neutral, di-anionic or, often controversially discussed, even tetra-anionic. The formal charge on benzene is correlated to assignment of the metal oxidation state which generally poses a problem.

However, some important genetic causes of autism, including the microdeletion, bear no obvious connection to translation. Here, we use proteomics, genetics, and translation assays in cultured cells and mouse brain to reveal altered translation mediated by loss of the kinase TAOK2 in deletion models.

The use of bulky amides has also been advantageous in catalyst design. Herein we present s-block metal chemistry with one of the bulkiest known amide ligands: (BuSi)N (abbreviated: N).

As an alternative route to superbulky amide reagents, the addition of polar reagents to a sila-imine has been investigated. Attempts to synthesize the superbulky amide anion (tBuSi)N by addition of tBuLi to tBuSi=N(SitBu) failed and gave tBuSi(tBuHSi)NLi and isobutene.

In the intestine, respiratory tract, and saliva, TFF3 mainly exists as a high-molecular-mass complex with IgG Fc binding protein (FCGBP), which is indicative of a role in mucosal innate immunity. For the first time, we identified different forms of TFF3 in the endocervix, i.

Disinhibited attachment behavior (DAB) among infants is persistent and associated with behavioral and relational problems throughout childhood and adolescence. Little is known about risk factors for DAB among infants reared at home, although studies have linked DAB with maternal psychiatric hospitalization and maternal borderline personality disorder. The aim of the current study was to further assess the association between DAB, maternal severe mental illness (SMI; schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression), and maternal PD symptoms.

Fundamental electron-induced dissociation processes were studied under single collision conditions, and the composition and morphology of FEBID deposits fabricated in an ultrahigh-vacuum (UHV) chamber were explored on different surfaces and at varied beam currents. In the gas phase, dissociative ionization was found to lead to significant carbon loss from this precursor, and about 50% of the chlorine was on average removed per dissociative ionization incident.

The initial virus-host interaction at the respiratory epithelium plays a crucial role in the course and progression of the infection, and is highly dependent on the glycosylation pattern of the host cell and of the secreted mucins. Glycans are polysaccharides that can be attached to proteins and thereby add to their stability and functionality.
