This study investigates the aerodynamic and aeroacoustic behavior of propellers operating in ground-effect conditions, with an emphasis on the impact of porous ground surface treatments. The investigation explores the potential of porous materials to reduce propeller noise near the ground, a major barrier to the acceptance and integration of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) systems. Experiments were conducted in an anechoic chamber using an APC [Formula: see text] inch propeller in a pusher configuration.

Objective: Using bisphosphonates as a case example, we sought to characterize and compare communication preferences of prescribers and family/informal caregivers regarding deprescribing.
Objective: To evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of Families Addressing Cancer Together (FACT), a web-based, individually tailored, psychoeducational intervention for parents with cancer to improve illness-related communication with their minor children.
Methods: Parents with stage I-IV solid tumors who had children ages 3-17 were randomized to 6 weeks of FACT versus waitlist control. Feasibility was assessed by rates of recruitment and retention.
In this case report, we describe a successful unplanned vaginal breech birth (VBB) for a primigravid woman who presented to the hospital in labor. This woman transferred to our hospital from an attempted home birth and was highly motivated to achieve a vaginal birth. The staff were recently trained on the provision of physiologic breech birth support, and after receiving informed consent, they facilitated a successful VBB.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has emerged as a potential non-invasive AD treatment that may serve as an adjunct therapy with FDA approved medications.
Methods: We conducted a 10-subject open label, single site study evaluating the effect of functional connectivity-resting state functional MRI guided-approach to TMS targeting with dysfunctional LSBNs in subjects with biomarker-confirmed early-stage AD (https://clinicaltrials.
Objectives: Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is a key biomedical intervention for ending the HIV epidemic in the United States, but its uptake is impeded by systemic barriers, including fragmented workflows and ineffective data coordination. This study aims to design PrEPLinker, a blockchain-based, client-centered platform to enhance care to address these challenges by improving care coordination and enabling clients to securely manage their identity and PrEP-related data.
Materials And Methods: Using Houston, Texas, as a use case, we conducted a needs assessment with PrEP collaborators to evaluate existing workflows and identify barriers in the PrEP care continuum.
Background And Objectives: Studies involving dementia caregivers are essential to transform care and inform new policies. However, identifying and recruiting this population for research is an ongoing challenge. This scoping review aimed to capture the current methodology for identifying and recruiting dementia caregivers in clinical studies.

Advanced cancer communication requires recognizing patients' psychosocial states and collaboratively engaging patients empathetically to develop the shared understanding necessary to guide decision-making. However, physicians found their communication underaccommodated, stemming from personal protection equipment, social distancing, and telemedicine.

The primary palliative care in post-acute care (PPC-PAC) intervention is an evidence-based approach designed to help people with serious illness align treatment plans with goals of care, optimize quality of life, and improve satisfaction with their care. To conduct a preliminary study and evaluate the feasibility of implementing the PPC-PAC intervention in the post-acute care SNF setting.

The relationships between participant characteristics and intervention adherence are understudied in pregnant populations. The purpose of this study was to conduct a secondary analysis of adherence to study capsules in a double-masked, placebo-controlled RCT of a probiotic intervention to reduce antenatal Group B Streptococcus colonization, in relationship to participant characteristics.

Methods: A GRE sequence and a bSSFP sequence, both with a stack-of-spirals readout, were designed and applied to three pigs. The images were reconstructed using C coil sensitivity maps measured in a phantom experiment.
In Michigan, sugarbeets () are stored for up to 200 days post-harvest, during which sugar loss may occur due to energy use from respiration and factors like rot. Cercospora leaf spot (CLS) has been considered a potential predisposing factor for increased storage rot. To investigate these impacts, field and postharvest studies evaluated storage rot symptom development in sugarbeets with designated 'high' or 'low' in-season CLS severity.

Objective: To evaluate whether delivering early palliative care via secure video vs in-person visits has an equivalent effect on quality of life in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Design, Setting, And Participants: Randomized, multisite, comparative effectiveness trial from June 14, 2018, to May 4, 2023, at 22 US cancer centers among 1250 patients within 12 weeks of diagnosis of advanced NSCLC and 548 caregivers.

Background: Ensuring a sufficient, appropriately qualified health workforce is of global concern. Understanding the attributes that employers seek is critical in recruitment, retention, and educational design. In physiotherapy, there is a dearth of evidence on desirable attributes that employers seek from early-career physiotherapists.

We describe clinician-reported barriers to diagnosing and managing care for patients with CI in a health system with standardized screening. We also explore whether barriers differ by clinician type-physician or advanced-practice clinician (APC).

The mutation was generated in a Flp/FRT EMS screen for conditional mutations that cause growth and developmental defects in a genetic background that blocks apoptosis. The mutations were conditional, based on the allele being present on the starting chromosome, and blocking canonical apoptosis in a homozygous state. The mosaic eyes exhibit defects in eye development including patches of rough eye and irregular surface structure.
