Background: Risk profile of recurrence may influence the effect of antiplatelet therapy. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of clopidogrel-aspirin initiated within 72 hours after symptom onset for acute mild stroke or high-risk transient ischemic attack stratified by risk profile.
Methods: This is a secondary post hoc analysis of the INSPIRES (Intensive Statin and Antiplatelet Therapy for Acute High-risk Intracranial or Extracranial Atherosclerosis) randomized clinical trial that enrolled patients 35 to 80 years old with acute mild ischemic stroke or high-risk transient ischemic attack between 2018 and 2022.
The exploration of two-dimensional (2D) metallenes is driven by their noteworthy attributes, encompassing high conductivity and substantial exposure of metal active sites, facilitating the development of nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR) electrocatalysts characterized by a low overpotential and superior selectivity. Here, employing first-principles swarm-intelligence structural search methods, we predict molybdenene as a novel and stable non-precious metallene, featuring a 2-atom-thick structure. Our findings demonstrate that the basal plane of molybdenene showcases remarkable catalytic activity with an overpotential of 0.

However, the formation of high-valence transition-metal ions is thermodynamically unfavorable in most cases. Here, a novel strategy is proposed to realize the purpose and reveal the mechanism by constructing amorphous phase and incorporating of elements with the characteristic of Lewis acid or variable charge state.

Uncertainties remain about the duration of the treatment effect. This study aimed to assess duration of benefit and risk of clopidogrel-aspirin in these patients.

Methods: We conducted comprehensive searches in eight databases from inception through September 2023, including PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Web of Science, SinoMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), China Science and Technology Periodical Database (VIP), and Wanfang Database. The objective was to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating HBOT's effectiveness in alleviating sleep disorder symptoms in PD patients as an adjunct therapy.
Background: Monocytes are a critical innate immune system cell type that serves homeostatic and immunoregulatory functions. They have been identified historically by the cell surface expression of CD14 and CD16. However, recent single-cell studies have revealed that they are much more heterogeneous than previously realized.

The unaffected gene encodes wild-type HTT (wtHTT) protein, which supports processes important for the health and function of the central nervous system. Selective lowering of mHTT for the treatment of HD may provide a benefit over nonselective HTT-lowering approaches, as it aims to preserve the beneficial activities of wtHTT.

Methods: This was a randomized, double-blinded, phase 2 trial (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT04908813).
Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) provide modest but unsatisfactory benefits for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). Developing strategies for treating ES-SCLC is critical.
Methods: We preliminarily explored the outcomes of salvage low-dose radiotherapy (LDRT) plus ICI on refractory SCLC patients.
Radiation therapy (RT) is one of the primary options for clinical cancer therapy, in particular advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Herein, the crucial role of bromodomain-containing protein 4 (BRD4)-RAD51 associated protein 1 (RAD51AP1) axis in sensitizing RT of HNSCC is revealed. A versatile nanosensitizer (RPB7H) is thus innovatively engineered by integrating a PROteolysis TArgeting Chimeras (PROTAC) prodrug (BPA771) and hafnium dioxide (HfO) nanoparticles to downregulate BRD4-RAD51AP1 pathway and sensitize HNSCC tumor to RT.

Nevertheless, the impact of voltage on the catalyst and the anion dissolution is frequently disregarded. In this study, Fe-doped NiMoO (Fe-NiMoO) was synthesized as a precursor through a straightforward hydrothermal method, and MoFe-modified Ni (oxygen) hydroxide (MoFe-NiOH) was obtained via cyclic voltammetry (CV) activation.

UB-612 vaccination safely induces potent, broad, and long-lasting immunity against SARS-CoV-2. A phase-2 trial-extended observational study during the Omicron BA.

Materials And Methods: A sample of 489 PD patients was recruited for the present study.
The microbial composition and volatile components of fermented grains (FG) and pit mud (PM) are crucial for the quality and flavor of compound-flavor baijiu (CFB). The physicochemical indices, culturable microorganisms, microbial communities, and volatile components of FG and PM were analyzed and correlated in our research. Considering FG and PM, amplicon sequencing was used to analyze the microbial community and the volatile components were detected by headspace solid-phase microextraction-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-SPME).

The effect of clopidogrel plus aspirin as compared with aspirin alone administered within 72 hours after the onset of acute cerebral ischemia from atherosclerosis has not been well studied.
Methods: In 222 hospitals in China, we conducted a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, two-by-two factorial trial involving patients with mild ischemic stroke or high-risk transient ischemic attack (TIA) of presumed atherosclerotic cause who had not undergone thrombolysis or thrombectomy.
Alkaline electrochemical water splitting has been considered as an efficient way for the green hydrogen production in industry, where the electrocatalysts play the critical role for the electricity-to-fuel conversion efficiency. Phosphate salts are widely used as additives in the fabrication of electrocatalysts with improved activity, but their roles on the electrocatalytic performance have not been fully understood. Herein, we fabricate Co, Fe dual-metal incorporated Ni hydroxide on Ni foam using NaHPO ((Co, Fe)NiOH-pi) and NaHPO ((Co, Fe)NiOH-hp) as additive, respectively.

Background: Sleep disturbance is a common non-motor symptom of Parkinson's disease (PD). Most polysomnography (PSG) studies are conducted when patients are in their "on medication" state. Our study aimed to investigate changes in the sleep structure in drug-naive PD patients with poor subjective sleep quality based on polysomnography (PSG) and to explore potential correlations between sleep structure and clinical features of the disease.

Background: The advent of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapies has transformed the treatment of hematological malignancies; however, broader therapeutic success of CAR T cells has been limited in solid tumors because of their frequently heterogeneous composition. Stress proteins in the MICA and MICB (MICA/B) family are broadly expressed by tumor cells following DNA damage but are rapidly shed to evade immune detection.
Methods: We have developed a novel CAR targeting the conserved α3 domain of MICA/B (3MICA/B CAR) and incorporated it into a multiplexed-engineered induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived natural killer (NK) cell (3MICA/B CAR iNK) that expressed a shedding-resistant form of the CD16 Fc receptor to enable tumor recognition through two major targeting receptors.
Objectives: To report the safety and immunogenicity profile of a protein subunit vaccine (MVC-COV1901) compared to AZD1222 and mRNA-1273 when given as a third (booster) dose to individuals who have completed different primary vaccine regimens.
Methods: Individuals were classified according to their primary vaccine regimens, including two-dose MVC-COV1901, AZD1222, or mRNA-1273. A third dose of either half-dose MVC-COV1901, full-dose MVC-COV1901, standard-dose AZD1222, half-dose mRNA-1273 was administered in a 1:1:1:1 treatment ratio to individuals with an interval range of 84-365 days after the second dose.
