The rapid adoption of single-cell technologies has created an opportunity to build single-cell 'atlases' integrating diverse datasets across many laboratories. Such atlases can serve as a reference for analyzing and interpreting current and future data. However, it has become apparent that atlasing approaches differ, and the impact of these differences are often unclear.

Article Synopsis
  • Cancer immunotherapy faces challenges due to poor antigen recognition and an unfriendly tumor microenvironment (TME).
  • Researchers developed "onion-like" multi-lamellar RNA lipid particle aggregates (LPAs) that enhance the delivery and effectiveness of tumor mRNA antigens by activating specific immune responses in the body.
  • In studies with dogs and humans, RNA-LPAs showed promising results, improving survival rates and triggering strong immune reactions against tumors, suggesting they could be a breakthrough method for cancer treatment.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the role of complement components (CCs) and activation products (CAPs) in multiple sclerosis (MS), particularly focusing on how their levels are affected by the presence of intrathecal IgM synthesis, which is linked to higher disease severity.
  • By analyzing samples from 112 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 127 MS patients, it was found that specific complement levels in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) were significantly higher in those with MS compared to control groups.
  • Key findings indicate that increased levels of complement components like C3a and C4a in the CSF correlate with worse disability and disease progression in MS patients, emphasizing the relationship between complement activation and neurodegeneration in

Background: Ciclesonide is a glucocorticoid prodrug, already registered for human use. Due to its mode of action and inhaled route of administration, it was considered an appropriate treatment option for horses with severe equine asthma. Although the efficacy of inhaled ciclesonide has been demonstrated in horses with asthma exacerbations under controlled mouldy hay challenge conditions, it has not yet been reported under field conditions.

Exposure to ambient air pollution has been associated with greater risk of elevated blood pressure (BP) in adults and children. Recent evidence suggests that air pollution exposure in pregnancy may also portend increased risk for the next generation; however, few studies have examined this relationship. We conducted a prospective study of 1293 mothers in the Boston Birth Cohort (enrolled 1998-2012) and their children who had follow-up visits between 3 and 9 years of age and complete exposure and outcome data.

A search for a charged Higgs boson, H(±), decaying to a W(±) boson and a Z boson is presented. The search is based on 20.3  fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the LHC.

To identify factors that may modify the heterosexual transmission of human T cell leukemia/lymphoma virus type I (HTLV-I), 534 married couples enrolled in the Miyazaki Cohort Study between November 1984 and April 1989 were studied: 95 husband HTLV-I-seropositive (H+)/wife seropositive (W+), 33 H+/W-, 64 H-/W+, and 342 H-/W-. After 5 years of follow-up, seven seroconversions occurred and clustered significantly among serodiscordant pairs (relative risk [RR] = 41.2); the rate of transmission was 3.
