Aim: To investigate the predictors of post-stroke delirium (PSD) in the old ischaemic stroke patients, and develop a nomogram to predict the risk of PSD.
Methods: A cross-observational study was conducted. The old ischaemic stroke patients in a tertiary hospital in South China were recruited and randomly divided into the train group and test group.
Background: The increased use of low-dose computed tomography (CT) for lung cancer screening has improved the detection of ground-glass nodules. However, as the clinical utility of CT findings to predict the invasiveness of pure ground-glass nodules (pGGNs) is currently limited, differentiating pGGNs that indicate invasive adenocarcinoma (IAC) from those that represent other histological entities is challenging. We aimed to quantify intratumor heterogeneity of lung adenocarcinomas characterized by pGGNs on CT to assess its efficacy in predicting IACs before surgery.

We aimed to identify regions critically associated with MCE using the Alberta Stroke Program Early Computed Tomography Score (ASPECTS) to evaluate the association between location-specific-net water uptake (NWU) and MCE.
Materials And Methods: This multicentre, retrospective cohort study included patients with acute ischemic stroke following large anterior circulation occlusion.
Background: Dabrafenib plus trametinib (Dab + Tram) is an approved targeted therapy in patients with mutated metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Here, we report the efficacy, safety, and quality of life (QoL) results of Dab + Tram treatment in Chinese patients with mutation-positive metastatic NSCLC.
Methods: This is a single-arm, open-label, multicentre, phase II study (NCT04452877).
Background: Although several models have been developed to predict postoperative pneumonia in elderly hip fracture patients, no systematic review of the model quality and clinical applicability has been reported.
Objective: To systematically review and critically appraise existing models for postoperative pneumonia in elderly hip fracture patients.
Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis.
Objective: The postoperative recovery of patients with lumbar disc herniation (LDH) requires further study. This study aimed to establish and validate a predictive model for functional recovery in patients with LDH and explore associated risk factors.
Method: Patients with LDH undergoing PLIF admitted from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2022 were included, and patient data were prospectively collected through follow-up.
CD73, an ectoenzyme responsible for adenosine production, is often elevated in immuno-suppressive tumor environments. Inhibition of CD73 activity holds great promise as a therapeutic strategy for CD73-expressing cancers. In this study, we have developed a therapeutic anti-human CD73 antibody cocktail, HB0045.

Presently, laser speckle contrast imaging, x-ray computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging are the mainstay for stroke diagnosis and therapeutic monitoring in preclinical studies. These modalities are often limited in terms of their ability to map brain perfusion with sufficient spatial and temporal resolution, thus calling for development of new brain perfusion techniques featuring rapid imaging speed, cost-effectiveness, and ease of use.

However, despite extensive efforts over the past decades, producing large quantities of desired ultrathin diamond membranes for widespread use remains challenging. Here we demonstrate that edge-exposed exfoliation using sticky tape is a simple, scalable and reliable method for producing ultrathin and transferable polycrystalline diamond membranes.

Design: A secondary analysis of aPFV data from a longitudinal cohort study.
Methods: The age and gender of each participant upon initial presentation, along with biological parameters, best-corrected visual acuity, and biomicroscopic assessments were collected.
Background: The effect of embolization of the middle meningeal artery in patients with subacute or chronic subdural hematoma is uncertain.
Methods: We performed a multicenter, open-label, randomized trial in China, involving patients with symptomatic nonacute subdural hematoma with mass effect. Patients were assigned to undergo burr-hole drainage or receive nonsurgical treatment at the surgeon's discretion, and patients in each group were then randomly assigned, in a 1:1 ratio, to undergo middle meningeal artery embolization with liquid embolic material or to receive usual care.
Purpose: To investigate the application value of the neutrophil to lymphocyte count ratio (NLR) in the prognostic analysis of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) after radical resection, and to offer guidance for the individualized perioperative diagnosis and treatment of ICC.
Methods: The clinical data of 360 patients diagnosed with ICC following radical surgery were retrospectively analyzed. The cut-off value of NLR was calculated using the minimum -value method, and then divided into High-NLR (H-NLR) group and Low-NLR (L-NLR) group according to the NLR cut-off value.
In tomato, sugar content is highly correlated with consumer preferences, with most consumers preferring sweeter fruit. However, the sugar content of commercial varieties is generally low, as it is inversely correlated with fruit size, and growers prioritize yield over flavour quality. Here we identified two genes, tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) calcium-dependent protein kinase 27 (SlCDPK27; also known as SlCPK27) and its paralogue SlCDPK26, that control fruit sugar content.

Methods: We conducted an ambidirectional cohort study with 78 prospectively enrolled patients with RL-IPostC and endovascular thrombectomy and 129 retrospectively enrolled patients with endovascular thrombectomy. The RL-IPostC procedure involved 5 cycles of 15-s balloon inflation and deflation in the ipsilateral internal carotid artery.

Background And Purpose: The underlying transcriptomic signatures driving brain functional alterations in MS and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) are still unclear.
Materials And Methods: Regional fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (fALFF) values were obtained and compared among 209 patients with MS, 90 patients with antiaquaporin-4 antibody (AQP4)+ NMOSD, 49 with AQP4- NMOSD, and 228 healthy controls from a discovery cohort. We used partial least squares (PLS) regression to identify the gene transcriptomic signatures associated with disease-related fALFF alterations.
This was a multicenter, single-arm, open-label, phase Ib/II study (NCT04255576), aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of JMT103 in patients with unresectable or surgically-challenging giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB). JMT103 (2 mg/kg) was administered subcutaneously every four weeks, with loading doses on days 8 and 15. The primary endpoint was the objective tumor response rate (OTR) based on best response, defined as the proportion of patients who achieved elimination of at least 90% of the giant cells or radiologic complete or partial response per the modified Inverse Choi density/size (mICDS) or modified European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (mEORTC) within 12 weeks.

The objective of this study was to propose a metric assessing whether the MTD decision is sensitive to enrolling a few additional subjects in a phase I dose-finding trial.
Methods: Numerous model-based and model-assisted designs have been proposed to improve the efficiency and accuracy of finding the MTD.
RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) modulate all aspects of RNA metabolism, but a comprehensive picture of RBP expression across tissues is lacking. Here, we describe our development of the method we call HARD-AP that robustly retrieves RBPs and tightly associated RNA regulatory complexes from cultured cells and fresh tissues. We successfully use HARD-AP to establish a comprehensive atlas of RBPs across mouse primary organs.
