The microRNA156 (miR156) has been widely studied in plants, however, the characterization of the miR156 family of genes in wheat and their expression patterns under abiotic stress are not completely clear. In this study, a total of 20 miR156 family members, referred to as tae-miR156a to tae-miR156t, were identified in wheat with their loci mapped to various chromosomes. A previously undescribed spirodiketopiperazine-indole alkaloid, chevalierlin (1), two pairs of previously undescribed dihydroisocoumarin enantiomers eurotiumides H-I (2-3), as well as six related known compounds (4-9) were isolated from the culture of a hydrothermal vent associated fungus Aspergillus chevalieri TW132-65. Methods: In the SPRINT (Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial) MIND study, participants were categorized as having both hs-cTnT and NT-proBNP in the lower 2 tertiles (n=4226), one in the highest tertile (n=2379), and both in the highest tertile (n=1506). The blood proteome holds great promise for precision medicine but poses substantial challenges due to the low abundance of most plasma proteins and the vast dynamic range of the plasma proteome. Here we address these challenges with NUcleic acid Linked Immuno-Sandwich Assay (NULISA™), which improves the sensitivity of traditional proximity ligation assays by ~10,000-fold to attomolar level, by suppressing assay background via a dual capture and release mechanism built into oligonucleotide-conjugated antibodies. Highly multiplexed quantification of both low- and high-abundance proteins spanning a wide dynamic range is achieved by attenuating signals from abundant targets with unconjugated antibodies and next-generation sequencing of barcoded reporter DNA.

Herein, we present a chemically robust and efficient synthesis route for B(9)-OH--carboranes by the oxidation of -carboranes with commercially available 68% HNO under the assistance of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid (HOTf) and hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP). The reaction is highly efficient with a wide scope of carboranes, and the selectivity of B(9)/B(8) is up to 98:2. The success of this transformation relies on the strong electrophilicity and oxidizability of HNO, promoted through hydrogen bonds of the Brønsted acid HOTf and the solvent HFIP.

Background And Objectives: Declines in stroke admission, IV thrombolysis (IVT), and mechanical thrombectomy volumes were reported during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. There is a paucity of data on the longer-term effect of the pandemic on stroke volumes over the course of a year and through the second wave of the pandemic. We sought to measure the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the volumes of stroke admissions, intracranial hemorrhage (ICH), IVT, and mechanical thrombectomy over a 1-year period at the onset of the pandemic (March 1, 2020, to February 28, 2021) compared with the immediately preceding year (March 1, 2019, to February 29, 2020).
