In recent years, metal hydride research has become one of the driving forces of the high-pressure community, as it is believed to hold the key to superconductivity close to ambient temperature. While numerous novel metal hydride compounds have been reported and extensively investigated for their superconducting properties, little attention has been focused on the atomic and electronic states of hydrogen, the main ingredient in these novel compounds. Here, we present combined H- and La-NMR data on lanthanum superhydrides, LaH, (x = 10.

A comprehensive study of the angular distributions in the bottom-baryon decays Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}h^{-}(h=π,K), followed by Λ_{c}^{+}→Λh^{+} with Λ→pπ^{-} or Λ_{c}^{+}→pK_{S}^{0} decays, is performed using a data sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9  fb^{-1} collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV. The decay parameters and the associated charge-parity (CP) asymmetries are measured, with no significant CP violation observed. For the first time, the Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}h^{-} decay parameters are measured.

Background: I-MIBG scintigraphy plays a significant role in diagnosing Parkinson's disease (PD), with most studies primarily targeting cardiac uptake and relying on traditional ratio-based parameters for assessment. However, due to variations in scanning conditions and image processing methodologies, the clinical utility of different parameters remains a subject of debate. This study aims to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of multi-parameter I-3-Iodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) scintigraphy and to identify the most reliable metrics for distinguishing PD from Parkinson-plus syndromes.

Low-temperature synthesis is crucial for advancing sustainable manufacturing and accessing novel metastable phases. Metal hydrides have shown great potential in facilitating the reduction of oxides at low temperatures, yet the underlying mechanism─whether driven by H, H, or atomic H─remains unclear. In this study, we employ electrical transport measurements and first-principles calculations to investigate the CaH-driven reduction kinetics in epitaxial α-FeO thin films.

In pursuit of high- hydride superconductors, the molecular hydrides have attracted less attention because the hydrogen quasimolecules are usually inactive for superconductivity. Here, we report on the successful synthesis of a novel bismuth hydride superconductor 2/-BiH at pressures around 170-180 GPa. Its structure comprises bismuth atoms and elongated hydrogen molecules with a H-H bond length of 0.

The hydrogenolysis of lignin model compounds (MCs) into high-value chemicals has received increasing attention, but their catalytic reaction mechanisms are not yet very clear. Here, we report the reaction mechanisms of the hydrogenolysis of MC into 4-acetylanisole (AAL) and guaiacol (GAL) catalyzed by LRuCl (L = 4'-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2,2':6',2″-terpyridine) with MC, H, and 1-phenylethan-1-ol (PEO) as the H-sources in aqueous solution with the Bro̷nsted base (NaOH), at the M06/def2-TZVP, 6-311++G (d,p) theoretical level, namely, RS-Self, RS-H, and RS-PEO, respectively. After dissociation in NaOH aqueous solution, the LRuCl compound can form a stable complex LRh (OH) as the initial catalytically active species.

: Androgen receptor (AR) expression and signaling are critical for the progression of prostate cancer and have been the therapeutic focus of prostate cancer for over 50 years. While a variety of agents have been developed to target this axis, many of these fail due to the emergent expression of AR RNA splice variants, such as AR-V7, that can signal independently of ligand binding. Other therapies, such as vaccination against prostate-specific antigens, have achieved FDA approvals but have fallen short of being incorporated as standard-of-care therapies for advanced prostate cancer.

The water oxidation reaction (WOR), which is pivotal to storing energy in chemical bonds, requires a catalyst to overcome its inherent kinetic barrier. In bulk solutions, sacrificial oxidants (SOs) can regenerate the catalysts to ensure that the homogeneous WOR can be operated with long-term consistent performance. To implement this strategy for organic WOR systems, we modified four common SOs with tetra--butylammonium ([NBu])─[NBu][Ce(NO)], [NBu][IO], [NBu][HSO], and [NBu][SO]─and examined their chemical stability and electrochemical behaviors in various organic solvents.

RNA modification has emerged as an important epigenetic mechanism that controls abnormal metabolism and growth in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). However, the roles of RNA N-acetylcytidine (ac4C) modification in AML remain elusive. Here, we report that ac4C and its catalytic enzyme NAT10 drive leukaemogenesis and sustain self-renewal of leukaemic stem cells/leukaemia-initiating cells through reprogramming serine metabolism.

Zebrafish collective behaviour is widely used to assess their physical and mental state, serving as a valuable tool to assess the impact of ageing, disease genetics, and the effect of drugs. The essence of these macroscopic phenomena can be represented by active matter models, where the individuals are abstracted as interactive self-propelling agents. The behaviour of these agents depends on a set of parameters in a manner reminiscent of those between the constituents of physical systems.

What happens to macromolecules ? What drives the structure-activity relationship and stability for antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs)? These interrelated questions are increasingly relevant due to the re-emerging importance of ADCs as an impactful therapeutic modality and the gaps that exist in our understanding of ADC structural determinants that underlie ADC stability. Complex macromolecules, such as ADCs, may undergo changes due to their intricate structure as biotransformations may occur on the linker, the payload, and/or at the modified conjugation site. Furthermore, the dissection of ADC metabolism presents a substantial analytical challenge due to the difficulty in the identification or quantification of minor changes on a large macromolecule.
