Background: Autophagy is activated during the pathogenesis of endothelial dysfunction and sepsis-associated acute lung injury (ALI). This study aimed to investigate whether autophagy affected endothelial barrier dysfunction and lung injury in a murine model of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced ALI, and then further clarify whether forkhead box O1 (), an autophagy-related transcriptional factor, contributed to autophagy activation and ALI induced by LPS.
Methods: Male C57BL/6 mice were treated with LPS (30 mg/kg), and then were allocated to a control group and an LPS group with or without FOXO1 inhibitor (AS1842856) treatment, respectively.

By establishing a rat diabetes model in rats with intervening treatment by Jiangtang Tongmai Prescription (JTTMP), this study explored the restorative pairing effect of JTTMP on diabetic lung injury. The model of type II diabetes model was used to establish the rat diabetes model, using a high-fat diet and streptozotocin (STZ) induction. Different doses of JTTMP and metformin were administered as a therapeutic to intervene, and blood was collected to assess the blood glucose level of each group of rats.

Traditionally, it has the effect of removing toxins and detumescence and can be used to treat hepatitis in China and India. Our previous studies have proved that the ethyl acetate extract of its leaves (PRPE) has an anti-hepatoma effect.

However, the heterogeneous distribution of TAMs in tumor tissues and the heterogeneity of the tumor cells make the immune activation challenging. To overcome these dilemmas, a hybrid bacterium with tumor targeting and penetration, TAM polarization, and photothermal conversion capabilities is developed for improving antitumor immunotherapy .

Background: In-depth and clear mechanistic study is a prerequisite for new drugs to enter clinical research.
Methods: New chemical entity BY4008 was identified by our lab as a novel and highly potent EGFR and JAK3 dualtarget inhibitor. A cell-based test exhibited strong antiproliferative activities against SW620 and HCT116 colon cancer cells harboring KRAS mutation with IC of nanomolar potency.
Background: The tumor-stromal ratio (TSR) has been verified to be a prognostic factor in many solid tumors. In most studies, it was manually assessed on routinely stained H&E slides. This study aimed to assess the TSR using image analysis algorithms developed by the Qupath software, and integrate the TSR into a nomogram for prediction of the survival in invasive breast cancer (BC) patients.

Recent studies have revealed that mitophagy could be a potential target process in the treatment of RIRI. However, whether MSC-derived EVs are involved in the regulation of mitophagy in RIRI remains largely unknown to date.

Previous studies have mostly focused on sporadic case reports and simulated high-altitude hypoxia experiments. This aim of this study was to explore the proteomic and morphological changes of ocular tissue in mice at real altitude environment.

Various traditional Chinese medicines (TCM) have been used clinically for treating alopecia, however, the effective compounds and underlying mechanism are less known. We sought to investigate the effect of Alpinetin (AP), a compound extracted from Fabaceae and Zingiberaceae herbs, in hair regeneration.

Aim Of The Study: We explored new therapeutic targets of XFZYD in TBI by the tsRNA-sequencing (tsRNA-seq) method.
Renal ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury is characterized by elevated expression of homocysteine and decreased production of hydrogen sulfide (HS). Cystathionine γ-lyase (CSE) is a key factor in the onset of renal I/R injury, while IFC-305 can regulate the expression of CSE via epigenetic modification. Animal and cellular models of I/R were established in this work, followed by H&E staining to evaluate the extent of renal tissue injury under distinct conditions.

This study aimed to investigate the significance of the nerve plane for inferior mesenteric plexus (IMP) preservation in laparoscopic rectal cancer surgery.
Methods: A total of 56 consecutive rectal patients underwent laparoscopic en bloc station 253 node dissection with high ligation of the IMA.
Purpose: The pathological role of axial stress in intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is controversial, and there was no quantified study until now. Here, we tried to clarify the correlation between IDD or low back pain (LBP) and axial stress at different duration and magnitude in vitro and in vivo.
Method: In vitro, the gene expression of aggrecan, matrix metalloproteinase-3 (MMP3), calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), and substance P (SP) was measured when nucleus pulposus cells (NPCs) were compressed under gradual severity.
Background: Relapsed childhood polymicrobial osteomyelitis associated with dermatophytosis has not been reported in the literature.
Case Presentation: Here we report on a case of a 45-year-old man who had left tibial osteomyelitis for 29 years, accompanied by skin fungal infection of the ipsilateral heel for 20 years, and underwent a second operation due to recurrence of polymicrobial infection 6 years ago. The patient had a history of injury from a rusty object, which penetrated the anterior skin of the left tibia middle segment causing subsequent bone infection, but was asymptomatic after receiving treatments in 1983.
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) shows very high potential for the clinical treatment of triple-negative breast cancer. However, the efficacy of PDT is significantly weakened by tumor hypoxia, the relatively high intracellular glutathione levels and the active proliferation of cancer cells. To address these issues, we developed a novel drug self-delivery nanorod (defined as AINRs) through the hydrophobic interaction among the mitochondrial complex III inhibitor (atovaquone, ATO), the photosensitizer (indocyanine green, ICG) and the dispersion stabilizer (distearoyl phosphoethanolamine-polyethylene glycol 2000, DSPE-PEG 2000).

Thus, the mechanism of action needs to be further explored. This study was to investigate the effect of GSLS on scopolamine (SCOP)-induced memory damage and the underlying mechanism.

Inhibition of PARP1 results in collapsed DNA replication fork and double-strand breaks (DSBs). Accumulation of DSBs goes beyond the capacity of DNA repair response, ultimately resulting in cell death.

ITCH is an E3 ubiquitin ligase associated with some inflammatory diseases, but its role in osteoarthritis (OA) remains to be explored. Here, we investigated the effects of ITCH in OA-induced chondrocyte damage and its potential mechanisms. Here, we found that ITCH was downregulated, while JAG1 was upregulated in OA tissues compared to normal cartilaginous tissues.

Pancreaticobiliary carcinomas is a highly malignant gastrointestinal tumor. Most pancreaticobiliary cancers arise from epithelial proliferation within the pancreaticobiliary ducts, referred to as pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasias (PanINs). Some PanINs are benign metaplasia, while others progress to invasive duct adenocarcinoma (IDAC).
