Background: The cause of acute paediatric hepatitis of unknown aetiology (2022) has not been established despite extensive investigation.
Objective: To summarise the evidence for and against a causal role for human adenovirus (HAdv), adeno-associated virus 2 (AAV-2) and SARS-CoV-2 in outbreaks of paediatric hepatitis in 2022.
Methods: We appraised and summarised relevant evidence for each of the Bradford Hill criteria for causality using quantitative (statistical modelling) and qualitative (narrative coherence) approaches.
Background: Impulsivity is a well-known determinant of maladaptive behavior in cocaine use disorder (CUD), but there are currently no effective strategies for managing excessive impulsivity. Growing evidence from preclinical and clinical studies suggests that atomoxetine, a selective noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor, is effective in improving impulse control in both healthy individuals and individuals with neuropsychiatric conditions.
Methods: We investigated the effects of atomoxetine on decisional impulsivity in patients with CUD.
Purpose Of Review: Psychotropic drug related weight gain is a common side-effect of significant concern to both clinicians and patients. Recent studies and treatment guidelines strongly support taking preventive and early treatment approaches to psychotropic drug-related weight gain (PDWG). Arguably the main pathway that PDWG occurs is via changes in eating behaviour leading to increased caloric intake.

Background: Cocaine use disorder is associated with cognitive deficits that reflect dysfunctional processing across neural systems. Because there are currently no approved medications, treatment centers provide behavioral interventions that have only short-term efficacy. This suggests that behavioral interventions are not sufficient by themselves to lead to the maintenance of abstinence in patients with cocaine use disorder.

In animal studies it has been established that hypothalamic lesioning or stimulation causes alteration to feeding behaviour and consequently body mass, and exposure to high calorie diets induces hypothalamic inflammation. These findings suggest that alterations in hypothalamic structure and function are both a cause and a consequence of changes to food intake.
