Background: Group B streptococcus (GBS) causes neonatal invasive disease, mainly sepsis and meningitis. Understanding the clinical characteristics, laboratory tests, and antibiotic resistance patterns of GBS invasive infections provides reliable epidemiological data for preventing and treating GBS infections.

Methods: Clinical characteristics and laboratory test results from 86 patients with neonatal invasive disease (45 cases of early-onset disease [EOD] and 41 cases of late-onset disease [LOD]) recruited from Fujian Maternity and Child Health Hospital between January 2012 and December 2021 were analyzed.

The electrochemical activation and partial oxidation of methane are highly attractive to enable the direct conversion in a sustainable and decentralized way. Herein, we report an electrochemical system in a non-diaphragm electrochemical bath to convert CH to CHOH and CHCHOH at room temperature, in which VO·HO as the anodic catalyst to activate CH and an aprotic ionic liquid [BMIM]BF as supporting electrolyte to control superoxide radicals (O) as the main active oxygen species generated on cathode. As a result, methanol and ethanol were identified as the liquid products, and the superior methanol Faraday efficiency (FE) of 32.

As one of the bulk solid wastes in the Yellow River basin in China, fluorite tailings urgently need to be utilized as resources. In this paper, NaOH and NaCO were used for alkali thermal activation of ground fluorite tailings under different temperature conditions, and the reactivity was analyzed by XRD, SEM and compressive strength after hydration, so as to evaluate the feasibility of fluorite tailings as geopolymer precursor. The results show that the fluorite tailings can exhibit certain reactivity under alkaline heat excitation, and significant amorphous glass phase can be detected.

Objectives: The link between allergic diseases and deficits in children's neurodevelopment has been suggested, but it remains unclear regarding the allergy-related effects on social-emotional development in early life. Our study aimed to explore the association between allergic diseases and social-emotional development during infancy using a prospective study.

Methods: 937 infants at 6 months were recruited from two community hospitals in Shanghai, of which 805 infants followed up at 12 months.
