Objective: This studied investigated whether changes in circulating biomarkers predict progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PFF) in patients with systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease (ILD) receiving treatment.
Method: Participants of Scleroderma Lung Study (SLS) II, which compared mycophenolate (MMF) versus cyclophosphamide (CYC) for SSc-ILD, who had blood samples at baseline and 12-months were included. Levels for C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin (IL)-6, chemokine ligand 4 (CXCL4), chemokine ligand 18 (CCL18) and Krebs von den Lungen 6 (KL-6) were measured, and a logistic regression model evaluated relationships between changes in these biomarkers and the development of PPF by 24 months.
It has been shown that magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guidance versus computed tomography (CT) guidance for aggressive margin-reduction (AMR) for stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) in prostate cancer reduces acute toxicity, but the longer-term benefits are unknown. We performed a secondary analysis of MIRAGE, a phase 3 randomized clinical trial of MRI-guided SBRT for prostate cancer, to determine whether AMR with MRI guidance significantly reduced 2-yr physician-scored or patient-reported toxic effects in comparison to CT guidance. The cumulative incidence of 2-yr physician-scored toxicity, defined as grade ≥2 genitourinary (GU) and gastrointestinal (GI) toxic effects according to Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events v4.

Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) provides a detailed glycemic control assessment. Telemedicine has been increasingly used since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Background Effective management of both acute and post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 is essential, particularly for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients, who are at increased risk of severe pro-inflammatory responses and complications. Persistent symptoms and residual lung and cardiovascular damage in post-coronavirus disease (COVID-19) individuals highlight the need for comprehensive long-term treatment strategies. Conventional treatments, including Remdesivir and glucocorticoids, have limitations, suggesting that further investigation into Ayurvedic therapies could be beneficial, though controlled trials are currently limited.

The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated challenges in the child care industry, leading to closures and financial strain. Early care and education (ECE) providers faced reduced income, increased debt, and material hardships such as food insecurity. Using survey data collected through the Child Care Resource Center (CCRC), this study examines the association between food insecurity risk, sociodemographic factors, and pandemic-related service changes among ECE providers in California.
