Large groups of species with well-defined phylogenies are excellent systems for testing evolutionary hypotheses. In this paper, we describe the creation of a comparative genomic resource consisting of 23 genomes from the species-rich species group, 22 of which are presented here for the first time. The group is well-positioned for clade genomics.

The ubiquitin-conjugation system identifies, modifies, and delivers proteins to the proteasome for degradation. Plaque samples were obtained from 13 children receiving long-term therapy with benzathine penicillin for the prevention of rheumatic fever recurrences, 31 children receiving oral sulfadiazine for the same purpose, and 29 untreated siblings.
