Background: Central nervous system (CNS) metastases are a significant health challenge, particularly in Africa. This study evaluates the preclinical characteristics, primary causes, management strategies, and outcomes of CNS metastases in Africa.
Methods: A systematic review of the literature was conducted using PubMed, Google Scholar, and Web of Science following PRISMA guidelines to identify studies on CNS metastases in Africa.
Objectives: Few studies have assessed sleep among African adolescents. We aim to understand factors associated with subjective sleep quality among female Ugandan adolescents and the association of poor sleep quality with subsequent menstrual- and mental health, and educational performance.
Methods: We analyzed data from a cluster-randomized controlled trial that evaluated a menstrual health intervention in 60 Ugandan secondary schools.
Background: Despite the significant burden of alcohol use disorders (AUD), there is a large treatment gap, especially in settings and populations affected by armed conflict. A key barrier to care is the lack of contextually relevant interventions and adequately skilled human resources to deliver them. This paper describes the systematic development of the CHANGE intervention, a potentially scalable psychological intervention for people with co-existing AUD and psychological distress in conflict-affected populations, delivered by non-specialist workers (NSWs).
