Aim: This study aimed to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of the urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA) inhibitor upamostat (LH011) in combination with gemcitabine for locally advanced unresectable or metastatic pancreatic cancer.
Method: Seventeen patients were enrolled and received escalating doses of oral LH011 (100, 200, 400, or 600 mg) daily alongside 1000 mg/m of gemcitabine. Safety profiles, tumor response (including response rate and progression-free survival), pharmacokinetics, and changes in CA199 and D-dimer levels were assessed.
Objective: This study explored the surgical technique and clinical application of the dorsal metacarpal cutaneous branch flap of the radial digital artery of the index finger.
Methods: Through the anatomical dissection of 10 hand specimens, we examined the origin and characteristics of the artery and its branches towards the hand dorsum. Furthermore, the soft tissue defects of the index finger in 12 patients admitted to our hospital between 2017 and 2021 were surgically repaired using the dorsal metacarpal cutaneous branch flap of the radial digital artery of the index finger.
While circular RNAs (circRNAs) exhibit lower abundance compared to corresponding linear RNAs, they demonstrate potent biological functions. Nevertheless, challenges arise from the low concentration and distinctive structural features of circRNAs, rendering existing methods operationally intricate and less sensitive. Here, we engineer an intelligent tetrahedral DNA framework (TDF) possessing precise spatial pattern-recognition properties with exceptional sensing speed and sensitivity for circRNAs.

Hepatic fibrosis, a degenerative liver lesion, significantly contributes to the deterioration and mortality among patients with chronic liver diseases. The condition arises from various factors including toxins, such as alcohol, infections like different types of viral hepatitis, and metabolic diseases. Currently, there are no effective treatments available for liver fibrosis.

By integrating non-invasive sampling techniques, high-throughput sequencing technology, and microscopic examination technology, this study presents the first evidence on diet composition during overwintering periods as well as the potential relationship between diet composition and gut microbiota in wild relict gulls (). Thirty-five fecal samples from two consecutive overwintering periods (2021 and 2022 overwintering periods) in Tianjin coastal wetland were used to investigate inter-year consistencies and discrepancies on diet composition and gut microbiota in wild It was found that the common dominant phyla of both 2021 and 2022 group included Firmicutes, Proteobacteria, Chloroflexi and Actinobacteriota.
