Background: Despite decreasing sheath diameter, access site bleeding and vascular complications are still a major concern in transfemoral aortic valve implantation (TAVI), and may increase morbidity and even increase mortality. The aim was to compare safety of arterial closure in transfemoral TAVI with two different principles, pre-suture with ProGlide and collagen plug closure with Manta.
Results: Seventy-six patients treated with ProGlide and 75 with Manta were analysed.
Objective: The Low Molecular Weight Fraction of 5% human serum Albumin (LMWF-5A) is being investigated as a treatment for knee pain from osteoarthritis.
Methods: This was a multicenter randomized, vehicle-controlled, double-blind, parallel study designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of two doses of an intra-articular injection of LMWF-5A. Patients with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis were randomized 1∶1∶1∶1 to receive a single 4 mL or 10 mL intra-articular knee injection of either LMWF-5A or vehicle control (saline).

Longterm biosignal recordings, such as overnight sleep recordings (so-called polysomnographies, PSG), often vary in signal quality and signal shape. Movement artifacts occur frequently. This may impede successful application of automated processing algorithms designed for well-defined short-term recordings.

Open repair is an established procedure, but an increasing number of patients have undergone endovascular repair during the last decades.
