Seizures induced by physical exercise: report of two cases.

Two children with seizures induced by physical exercise are described. Epilepsy was present from early childhood (age: 4 and 5 months), but the precipitating effect of exercise became evident only later (age: 20 months and 3.5 years).

[The Sanz method of cardiogoniometry].

Cardiogoniometry (CGM), an orthogonal lead system using four chest leads, was performed in a population of 120 healthy volunteers. The measurements were taken simultaneously with the conventional ECG at rest, after upright bicycle exercise at 50 watts, and immediately and 6 minutes after maximal symptom limited exercise. The results of these tests are the normal values for CGM.

[Cardiogoniometry in coronary heart disease. A clinical study].

Maximal vectors of depolarization (QRS) and repolarization (ST/T), and the initial QRS-vector of CGM, were measured simultaneously with conventional ECG at rest and during exercise in a population of 85 patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD). Haemophilus influenzae type b septicaemia associated with myonecrosis and thigh abscess.

A case is reported of a male adult with Haemophilus influenzae type b septicaemia and subsequent abscess in the left thigh due to this microorganism following injection of phenylbutazone. The phenylbutazone probably caused muscle cell damage. It is assumed that Haemophilus influenzae type b colonized the site during an episode of septicaemia, with subsequent development of necrosis and abscess.

[Results of a double-blind study on the effectiveness of ERU (extractum radicis Urticae) capsules in conservative treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia].

In 50 patients with prostatic hyperplasia the effect on symptomatology and objective findings of ERU-capsules versus placebo was investigated in a double-blind study over a 9 week treatment period. Admitted to the study were patients in phases I and II who had been referred to the clinic in order to evaluate up the indication for operation. Concerning subjective complaints there was an improvement in dysuric symptoms in both patient groups.
