Relationship between bad oral habits, signs, and symptoms of temporomandibular joint disorders among Saudi population: A cross-sectional study.

Background: According to the American Dental Association, temporomandibular disorders (TMD) refer to a group of disorders characterised by pain in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), the periauricular area, or the muscles of mastication. TMJ noise/sounds, and any deviations or restriction during jaw movements. Many oral habits are common and usually do not harm the TMJ and associated structures.

Prevalence and distribution of selected developmental dental anomalies in Taif, Saudi population.

Background: Developmental dental anomalies are seen as abnormalities in tooth size, shape, position, and structure due to multiple reasons during various stages of tooth development. These anomalies can create disturbances in dental arch lengths and occlusions. Hence, it is very important to treat, recognise and perform proper treatment.

Context: Abuse of tobacco, such as drug and alcohol abuse, is a worldwide public health problem. Once a person is addicted to nicotine, quitting smoking is difficult. A measure of the addictive potential of tobacco products is the amount of nicotine available from them.

Apical plug technique in a calcified immature tooth: a case report.

Traumatic injury to an immature tooth may result in pulpal necrosis secondary to pulp canal obliteration, which makes the management of the tooth a clinical challenge for dentists. The present case report describes an innovative apical plug technique with mineral trioxide aggregate in a calcified immature tooth using an ultrasonic tip and long, thin, tapered fissure burs. The technique was proven to be successful clinically and radiographically at 2 years postobturation.

Vinegar as a disinfectant of extracted human teeth for dental educational use.

Context: Extracted human teeth are routinely used in dentistry to learn technical and preclinical skills. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has adopted guidelines for infection control of extracted teeth used for research and teaching, requiring that teeth be sterilized before use. Many of the proposed disinfection methods starting from use of formalin, sodium hypochlorite and to autoclaving have their own drawbacks and may not be practical.
