BACKGROUND Fibrosing mediastinitis (FM) is a rare, fibroproliferative disorder within the mediastinum. It is extremely rare for hematologic malignancies to develop as FM. CASE REPORT A 32-year-old Japanese man with a 1-month history of headache and 2-week history of facial swelling underwent chest computed tomography (CT); a diffuse mass-like lesion was revealed in the anterior mediastinum with severe stenosis of vital mediastinal organs.

Following a successful pregnancy via vitrified-warmed embryo transfer, a 33-year-old nulliparous woman with systemic lupus erythematosus and long-term steroid use presented with intra-abdominal hemorrhage due to placenta percreta and spontaneous uterine perforation at week 10 of gestation.

Neurological and skeletal muscle properties are suggested causes of dynapenia. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between upper limb muscle quality (grip strength/upper extremity muscle mass) and knee osteoarthritis in dynapenia, and to identify dynapenia-associated factors. Elderly individuals who responded to a public call for screening in Wakasa Town, Fukui Prefecture between June 2019 and November 2021 were included.
