Organoids have revolutionized the whole field of biology with their ability to model complex three-dimensional human organs in vitro. Intestinal organoids were especially consequential as the first successful long-term culture of intestinal stem cells, which raised hopes for translational medical applications. Despite significant contributions to basic research, challenges remain to develop intestinal organoids into clinical tools for diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy.

Context: In most cases of non-islet cell tumor hypoglycemia (NICTH), high molecular weight forms of insulin-like growth factor II, commonly referred to as big IGF-II, cause hypoglycemia. MicroRNA-483 (miR-483), encoded within an intron of IGF2 gene, has been suggested to be co-expressed with IGF-II.

Objective: The aim of this study is to demonstrate the utility and reliability of circulating miR-483 as a biomarker for diagnosis and therapeutic outcome of NICTH.

Human intestinal organoids (HIOs) derived from human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) are promising resources for intestinal regenerative therapy as they recapitulate both endodermal and mesodermal components of the intestine. However, due to their hPSC-line-dependent mesenchymal development and spherical morphology, HIOs have limited applicability beyond basic research and development. Here, we demonstrate the incorporation of separately differentiated mesodermal and mid/hindgut cells into assembled spheroids to stabilize mesenchymal growth in HIOs.

The research aims to understand how IT factors contribute to nursing-related medical incidents in a healthcare landscape rapidly integrating IT. The study identifies IT-related incidents through a retrospective analysis of medical incident reports, primarily in nursing, by analyzing categorized data and free-text descriptions for IT-related keywords.

The excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) reaction of 4'-,-diethylamino-3-hydroxyflavone (CHF) was studied using time-resolved fluorescence measurements in ionic liquids (ILs) of various anions with a fixed cation (1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium [Cmim]). CHF showed an ESIPT reaction from the normal excited state (N*; keto form) to the tautomer excited state (T*; enol form) where both states are emissive. The ESIPT rate and yield were obtained by analyzing the time-resolved fluorescence spectra measured using the optical Kerr gate method.
