The concept of a warm person has played a key role in western social psychological research, particularly in how people perceive others. Williams and Bargh (2008; Study 1) found that individuals holding a cup of warm beverage perceived the individuals they faced as psychologically warmer than those who held a cup of cold beverage. In this article, we set out to replicate and extend these findings by exploring whether various factors modify the effect of physical and social warmth.

Neural perspectives on morality due to beguiling mechanisms.

We consider deception an example of behavior that challenges traditional explanations of moral behavior. Beguiling mechanisms, by which we mean deceptiveness with charming seduction for diversion, subtly influence moral sensitivity and judgment in moral dilemma situations. The duality of beguiling mechanisms is important to grasp, including how they relate to the ambiguity of situations.

Aggressive external root resorption of the entire dentition accompanied by osteolysis: a case report.

A healthy Caucasian male lost all of his teeth because of aggressive cervical, apical, and lateral root resorption over a period of 11 years. Microscopically, there was no sign of reparative cementum apposition, but cell-rich fibrous connective tissue filling the deep resorptions was seen. The resorbed teeth were surrounded by fibro-osseous tissue of osteolytic appearance, as noted during radiologic examination.

From chronic feed-induced intestinal inflammation to adenocarcinoma with metastases in salmonid fish.

Neoplasms in fish normally show poor abilities for metastasis, and there are no reports on intestinal cancer with metastasis to other organs. In aquaculture production, carnivorous salmonids in Northern Europe receive commercial feeds with plant ingredients. Such contents have been shown to cause chronic intestinal inflammation.

Nerve growth factor receptor (p75 NTR) and pattern of invasion predict poor prognosis in oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Aims: To evaluate the expression of p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75(NTR)) in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). The results were related to tumour node metastasis (TNM) stage, World Health Organization (WHO) grade, invasive front grading (IFG) and prognosis.

Methods And Results: Immunohistochemically, the expression of p75(NTR) was assessed in 53 T1-T2 OSCCs.
