Objective: The goal was to evaluate institutional inequities in the US Military Health System in knee arthroplasty receipt within three years of knee osteoarthritis diagnosis when accounting for other treatments received (eg, physical therapy, medications).

Methods: In this retrospective observational cohort study, medical record data of patients (n = 29,734) who received a primary osteoarthritis diagnosis in the US Military Health System between January 2016 and January 2020 were analyzed. Data included receipt of physical therapy one year before diagnosis and up to three years after diagnosis, prediagnosis opioid and nonopioid prescription receipt, health-related factors associated with levels of racism, and the primary outcome, knee arthroplasty receipt within three years after diagnosis.

Introduction: Optimized health system approaches to improving guideline-congruent care require evaluation of multilevel factors associated with prescribing practices and outcomes after total knee and hip arthroplasty.

Materials And Methods: Electronic health data from patients who underwent a total knee or hip arthroplasty between January 2016-January 2020 in the Military Health System Data were retrospectively analyzed. A generalized linear mixed-effects model (GLMM) examined the relationship between fixed covariates, random effects, and the primary outcome (30-day opioid prescription refill).

The NMR pulse sequence CODEX (centerband-only detection of exchange) is a widely used method to report on the number of magnetically inequivalent spins that exchange magnetization via spin diffusion. For crystals, this rules out certain symmetries, and the rate of equilibration is sensitive to distances. Here we show that for C CODEX, consideration of natural abundance spins is necessary for crystals of high complexity, demonstrated here with the amino acid phenylalanine.

All homogeneous sphere packings were derived that refer to the trivariant lattice complexes of monoclinic space-group types P2/c and P2/c. In total, sphere packings of 55 types have been found. The maximal inherent symmetry is monoclinic for 17 types while the other types comprise at least one sphere packing with cubic (four cases), hexagonal (six cases), tetragonal (eight cases) or orthorhombic (20 cases) symmetry.

All homogeneous sphere packings were derived that refer to the three trivariant monoclinic lattice complexes with mirror symmetry. In total, 29 types of sphere packings have been found. Only for three types is the maximal inherent symmetry of their sphere packings monoclinic whereas the inherent symmetry is orthorhombic for 13 types, tetragonal for eight types, hexagonal for four types and cubic for one type.
