Design, Setting, And Participants: This multi-institutional decision analytical modeling study used a mixed-methods multicriteria decision analysis (MCDA) and had 2 phases.
Background: Malondialdehyde (MDA) is an oxidative stress biomarker, which represents a unifying mechanism of brain injury that occurs throughout the ischemic stroke cascade. The current study aimed to examine whether or not acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients who had elevated serum MDA levels at admission had an increased risk of mortality and a worse functional outcome three months later.
Methods: An observational, prospective cohort study that enrolled 90 patients with AIS.
Objectives: In 2020, Canada spent 12.9 percent of its GDP on healthcare, of which 3 percent was on medical devices. Early adoption of innovative surgical devices is mostly driven by physicians and delaying adoption can deprive patients of important medical treatments.

Shifts in the sensing microring resonances are electrically tracked by a doped second microring, which acts as both a tracking element and a photodetector. By tracking the power supplied to this second ring, as the sensing ring's resonance shifts, the effective refractive index change caused by the analyte is determined.
