The association between hypopituitarism and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is increasingly recognized, although data about therapies targeting recurrence post-transplant is limited. An 8-year-old with hypopituitarism-associated MASLD underwent a liver transplant due to rapid progression of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Hepatosteatosis recurred within weeks.

Biochemical analysis of soft tissue infectious fluids and its diagnostic value in necrotizing soft tissue infections: a 5-year cohort study.

Background: Necrotizing soft tissue infections (NSTI) are rapidly progressing and life-threatening conditions that require prompt diagnosis. However, differentiating NSTI from other non-necrotizing skin and soft tissue infections (SSTIs) remains challenging. We aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of the biochemical analysis of soft tissue infectious fluid in distinguishing NSTIs from non-necrotizing SSTIs.

Pediatric Acute Liver Failure Secondary to Autoimmune Hepatitis in an Infant With Thrombocytopenia-Absent Radius (TAR) Syndrome: A Case Report.

Thrombocytopenia absent radius (TAR) syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that has been associated with food protein-induced allergic proctocolitis and transient leukemoid reactions, among other manifestations. There has been no prior reports of its association with autoimmune disease, more specifically, autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) or the development of pediatric acute liver failure (PALF). We present a case of an 8-month-old infant with TAR syndrome who presented with PALF, secondary to AIH with elevated liver-kidney microsomal antibody (>1:2560).

Survival analysis of root-resected molars from 1 to 13.4 years: A retrospective cohort study.

Statement Of Problem: While root resective therapy may extend the longevity of a molar, data on patient selection and outcomes of root resection are scarce.

Purpose: The purpose of this retrospective cohort study was to analyze the survival of root-resected molars and investigate factors affecting the decision and outcomes of the therapy.

Material And Methods: Patient- and tooth-related data from participants who had received root resection between 1999 and 2022 were collected.

Clinicopathologic Features of Severe Acute Hepatitis Associated With Adenovirus Infection in Children.

A recent increase in reports of severe acute hepatitis of unknown etiology in children is under investigation. Although adenovirus has been frequently detected, its role remains unclear, and systematic histopathologic analysis is lacking. We conducted a retrospective study of 11 children hospitalized between October 2021 and May 2022 with unexplained acute hepatitis and concurrent adenovirus infection.
