Objective: To implement an electronic health record best practice advisory (BPA) to promote coprescribing of naloxone to patients at high risk of serious opioid-related adverse events (ORADEs).

Design: This pre-post quasi-experimental study evaluated 9 months of opioid and naloxone prescription data before and after BPA implementation.

Setting: The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin enterprise is comprised of 45 ambulatory clinics and 10 hospitals, including the only adult Level 1 trauma center in eastern Wisconsin.

Objectives: This study evaluated the scale-up of a remote monitoring service, capturing monthly Rheumatoid Arthritis Impact of Disease scores and patient-generated text messages, for patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA; in remission or with low disease activity) attending routine outpatient clinics across six hospitals. We explored patients and staff experiences and implementation outcomes.

Methods: A pragmatic, mixed methods approach was used, with active patient involvement throughout.

Background: Hypoxia-induced glycogen turnover is implicated in cancer proliferation and therapy resistance. Triple-negative breast cancers (TNBCs), characterized by a hypoxic tumor microenvironment, respond poorly to therapy. We studied the expression of glycogen synthase 1 (GYS1), the key regulator of glycogenesis, and other glycogen-related enzymes in primary tumors of patients with breast cancer and evaluated the impact of GYS1 downregulation in preclinical models.

Though The Joint Commission requires health systems perform annual formulary review, guidance for how to perform this review is lacking. Published methods include comprehensive review of all pharmaceutical classes; however, this approach may not be the most efficient or effective option for a health system with a large formulary. To create a prioritization system for annual formulary review through development of a pharmaceutical class scoring tool.
