We present the case of a woman in her eighties with a collision tumor composed of a malignant melanoma, a squamous cell carcinoma and a basal cell carcinoma. The simultaneous growth of histogenetically different, spatially not separate, malignant tumors of the skin is rare. The classification is difficult and sometimes confusing, especially regarding the terminology used in the literature.

Dowling-Degos disease (DDD) is a rare autosomal-dominant genodermatosis with limited treatment possibilities. Although the efficacy of ablative laser therapy has been reported, we sought to examine the efficacy of fractional versus full ablative laser therapy in a female patient with DDD in a split-side report. We treated the lesions on the right side of the patient's upper abdomen with an ablative fractional CO laser and the lesions on the left side of the upper abdomen with a full ablative Er:YAG laser (erbium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet laser) three times at monthly intervals.

On account of genetic homologies trisomy 16 in the mouse is regarded as an animal model of Down's syndrome. A detailed evaluation of the cardiovascular system in 109 fetuses with trisomy 16 and 422 balanced siblings was performed in order to systematize the cardiovascular anomalies and to elucidate the pathogenetic mechanisms responsible for their formation. 92% of fetuses with experimentally induced trisomy 16 exhibited cardiovascular anomalies.
