Background: Digital mental health interventions (DMHIs) to monitor and improve the health of people with psychosis or bipolar disorder show promise; however, user engagement is variable, and integrated clinical use is low.

Objective: This prospectively registered systematic review examined barriers and facilitators of clinician and patient engagement with DMHIs, to inform implementation within real-world settings.

Methods: A systematic search of 7 databases identified empirical studies reporting qualitative or quantitative data about factors affecting staff or patient engagement with DMHIs aiming to monitor or improve the mental or physical health of people with psychosis or bipolar disorder.

Inflammation plays a crucial role in wound healing and the host immune response following pathogenic invasion. However, unresolved chronic inflammation can result in tissue fibrosis and genetic alterations that contribute to the pathogenesis of human diseases such as cancer. Recent scientific advancements exploring the underlying mechanisms of malignant cellular transformations and cancer progression have exposed significant disparities between pediatric and adult-onset cancers.

Distressing voices are a core symptom of psychosis, for which existing treatments are currently suboptimal; as such, new effective treatments for distressing voices are needed. AVATAR therapy involves voice-hearers engaging in a series of facilitated dialogues with a digital embodiment of the distressing voice. This randomized phase 2/3 trial assesses the efficacy of two forms of AVATAR therapy, AVATAR-Brief (AV-BRF) and AVATAR-Extended (AV-EXT), both combined with treatment as usual (TAU) compared to TAU alone, and conducted an intention-to-treat analysis.

The lymphatic system functions in fluid homeostasis, lipid absorption and the modulation of the immune response. The role of Gpnmb (osteoactivin), an established osteoinductive molecule with newly identified anti-inflammatory properties, has not been studied in lymphangiogenesis. Here, we demonstrate that Gpnmb increases lymphatic endothelial cell (LEC) migration and lymphangiogenesis marker gene expression in vitro by enhancing pro-autophagic gene expression, while no changes were observed in cell proliferation or viability.
