A circular shunt, initially described by Shone et al. in 1962, refers to abnormal blood recirculation through complete intracardiac or intra- and extracardiac communications, bypassing the capillary beds. This pathophysiological condition is most commonly associated with complex congenital heart defects, such as Ebstein's malformation, pulmonary atresia, Gerbode defect, and so on.

Secondary objectives included comparison of demographic characteristics, cardiopulmonary bypass parameters, postoperative vasoactive inotrope requirements, incidence of cardiac conduction abnormalities, echocardiographic findings, intensive care unit and hospitalisation durations, reoperations rates, morbidity and mortality between the 2 approaches.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted at the Royal Hospital, Muscat, Oman, between January 2016 and December 2019.
Mucormycosis is a rare, severe fungal infection mainly affecting immunocompromised individuals. Because of limited data on its epidemiology in Oman, we present this national, multicentric, retrospective review that includes all cases of proven mucormycosis between 2006 and 2022 in Oman. There were 51 cases of mucormycosis reported in Oman.

Aims: The 4D magnetic resonance imaging (4D-flow MRI) provides a qualitative and quantitative assessment of cardiovascular structures and processes. 4D-flow MRI was used to study pulmonary flow in post-patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) stent insertion in duct-dependent pulmonary flow neonates at baseline (PDA stent insertion) and after 6 months, and also, to evaluate the effect of flow dynamics on the growth of pulmonary arteries (PAs).
Methods And Results: This prospective observational study included neonates with ductus arteriosus-dependent pulmonary circulation who underwent ductal stenting between June 2021 and November 2022.
