High-strength, strongly bonded and self-healing materials are of great interest for several applications; however, the experimental and design of all such properties in a single material is challenging. In the present work, inspired by cartilage tissue, polyacrylamide (PAM)-based tough and durable dimer (PAM-Ag and PAM-BNOH) and trimer (PAM-Ag-BNOH) nanocomposites were synthesized by encapsulating silver (Ag) and hydroxylated hexagonal boron nitride (BNOH). Strong interfacial interaction was achieved by introducing (computational modelling and DFT approaches) noncovalent bonds in the dimer and trimer nanohybrids.

Soil erosion caused by water refers to the removal of topsoil by rainfall and runoff. Proper selection of an assessment method is crucial for quantifying the spatial variance of soil erosion. The Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) and its revised version (RUSLE) are widely used for modelling soil erosion.

This study evaluated the potency of zein-alginate-phosphatidylcholine nanoparticles (NPs) on bioaccessibility/intestinal uptake of encapsulated lycopene (LY) and lutein (LT) versus dietary absorption using simulated digestion and human intestinal Caco-2 cells. LY-zein-alginate-PC (LYZAP) and LT-zein-alginate-PC (LTZAP) NPs yield desired properties, which exhibit sustained release and are suitable for oral administration. Interestingly, co-treatment of LYZAP + LTZAP showed better release of carotenoids instead of individual treatment at intestinal pH.

Objective: Cancer stem cells (CSCs) belong to a subpopulation of undifferentiated cells present within tumors that have the potential to regenerate, differentiate, maintenance of pluripotency, drug resistance, and tumorigenicity when transplanted into an innate host. These can influence the growth and behavior of these tumors and are used to investigate the initiation, progression, and treatment strategies of laryngeal cancer. Research on CSC science and targeted therapies were hinge on their isolation and/or enrichment procedures.

This study aimed to evaluate the role of spices/spice active principles on physical, biochemical, and molecular targets of bioaccessibility/bioavailability. Carotenoids-rich micellar fraction obtained through simulated digestion of green leafy vegetables (GLV) with individual or two/three combinations were correlated to their influence on bioaccessibility, cellular uptake, and basolateral secretion of carotenoids in Caco-2 cells. Results suggest that carotenoids' bioaccessibility depends on micelles physicochemical properties, which is affected due to the presence of co-treated dietary spices and their composition.
