Objective: Pleural metastasis (PM) is rare in patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC). Radioiodine (131I) therapy has been the main treatment for postoperative metastasis and recurrence of DTC. However, clinical data on PM from DTC are limited.

Erythroleukemia, a complex myeloproliferative disorder presenting as acute or chronic, is characterized by aberrant proliferation and differentiation of erythroid cells. Although nootkatone, a sesquiterpene derived from grapefruit peel and Alaska yellow cedar, has shown anticancer activity predominantly in solid tumors, its effects in erythroleukemia remain unexplored. This study aimed to investigate the impact of nootkatone and its derivatives on erythroleukemia.

Objective: Crowd crush disasters result in psychological risks such as anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This descriptive research study identified the mental health status of Koreans after the Itaewon crowd crush disaster and explored related factors.

The Inner Mongolia section of the Yellow River is a seasonal frozen soil area, where the freeze-thaw effect can alter soil strength and compressibility, affecting bank stability. This study takes the banks sandy silt of the Inner Mongolia section of the Yellow River as the research object. It systematically investigates the relationship between shear strength parameters and compression index of sandy silt and the initial dry density, water content, and freeze-thaw cycles of the soil.

Isolation of New Strains of Lactic Acid Bacteria from the Vaginal Microbiome of Postmenopausal Women and their Probiotic Characteristics.

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB), traditionally consumed as fermented foods, are now being applied to the medical field beyond health-functional food as probiotics. Therefore, it is necessary to continuously discover and evaluate new strains with suitable probiotic characteristics, mainly focusing on safety. In this study, we isolated eight new strains from postmenopausal vaginal fluid using culturomics approaches, an emerging area of interest.
