[Results of reference pathology in mammography screening].

As a measure of quality assurance in mammography screening in Germany, obligatory double reading of histopathological specimens is currently a subject of debate. Concordance rates of more than 6000 cases gathered from several reference centres were evaluated. In accordance with several international studies, overall agreement in single and double readings in German mammography screening was approximately 95%.

Patient And Methods: We are presenting a 3-year follow-up of an 80-year-old woman with metastasized breast cancer (c(2)T3/N1/M1) receiving combined intra- and peritumoral and subcutaneous MT with ABNOBAviscum(r) and concomitant pamitron acid.

A multicentric European study testing the reproducibility of the WHO classification of endometrial hyperplasia with a proposal of a simplified working classification for biopsy and curettage specimens.

This study was designed to assess intraobserver and interobserver agreement in the diagnosis of 56 endometrial specimens by five European expert gynecologic pathologists using the WHO classification and to establish which histologic features are significantly associated with each classification category. The seven categories were simple hyperplasia, complex hyperplasia, atypical hyperplasia, well-differentiated adenocarcinoma, proliferative endometria, secretory endometria, and other. Slides were reviewed twice for diagnosis, with accompanying evaluation of a checklist of histologic features.

Neurodegenerative disorders, including spin-ocerebellar ataxias (SCA), Huntington disease (HD) and dentatorubral-pallidoluysian atrophy (DRPLA), are associated with unstable CAG repeats. To investigate the mitotic stability of the repetitive element in the genes for SCA1, SCA3, HD, and DRPLA we extracted DNA from up to 13 tissue samples from four deceased individuals with progressive neurological disorders and neuropathological signs. Due to the formalin fixation of some tissues the genomic DNA was highly degraded and unsuitable for amplification of fragments longer than 150 bp.
