Introduction: Plaque control remains a concern in oral health but also in orthodontics.
Objective: The aim of this paper was to investigate the dental plaque adhesion to different orthodontic appliances.
Materials And Methods: Four literature reviews were initiated to clarify the accumulation of dental plaque to different orthodontic appliances, namely the type of brackets (conventional versus self-ligating, metal versus clear), the type of ligatures (metal versus elastomeric) in addition to the type of archwires.
