Potassium metal batteries are emerging as a promising high-energy density storage solution, valued for their cost-effectiveness and low electrochemical potential. However, understanding the role of potassiphilic sites in nucleation and growth remains challenging. This study introduces a single-atom iron, coordinated by nitrogen atoms in a 3D hierarchical porous carbon fiber (Fe─N-PCF), which enhances ion and electron transport, improves nucleation and diffusion kinetics, and reduces energy barriers for potassium deposition.

This article presents particular occupational burn injuries resulting in a complex defect of the digits. Nine patients with exposed bone or tendon wounds on the digits were successfully treated using the pedicle adipofascial turnover flap overlaid with skin grafts. Electrical and high-temperature contact burns resulted in five and four severe cases, respectively.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the micro-autologous fat transplantation (MAFT)-gun technique for delivering fat to enhance facial contours, involving 31 participants treated between January 2021 and June 2023.
  • Results showed specific fat volume needs for different facial areas, with an overall high satisfaction rate of 83.9% and no reported complications.
  • The MAFT-gun technique is deemed safe and effective, significantly improving facial aesthetics and satisfaction even after a year post-surgery, suggesting closed-system fat processors as beneficial alternatives.

Triarylamines are frequently employed as electron donor functional groups in a variety of organic electronic materials. We herein report the synthesis and in-depth characterisation of aza-analogues of fully bridged triarylamines, consisting of 5-, 6- and 7-membered rings. The impact of nitrogen doping and π-extension on the structural, electronic and optical-properties of these contorted heteroaromatic PAHs is thoroughly investigated and paves the way for an improved understanding of the structure-property relationships.

Excessive activity of osteoclasts(OCs) lead to bone resorption in chronic inflammatory conditions. The use of natural compounds to target OCs offers significant promise in the treatment or prevention of OC-associated diseases. Irilin D (IRD), a natural isoflavone derived from Belamcanda chinensis (L.
