Extravasation of CCR2-positive monocytes into tissue and to the site of injury is a fundamental immunological response to infections. Nevertheless, exuberant recruitment and/or activity of these monocytes and monocyte-derived macrophages can propagate tissue damage, especially in chronic inflammatory disease conditions. We have previously shown that inhibiting the recruitment of CCR2-positive monocytes ameliorates lung tissue damage caused by chronic neutrophilic inflammation in cystic fibrosis (CF) mouse models.

Purpose: During the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, health services offered to individuals diagnosed with mental disorders were interrupted, and use of alternative methods, such as telenursing, came to the forefront.
Method: Sixty-four individuals with schizophrenia participated in the current randomized controlled trial that evaluated whether a telenursing intervention affected their drug attitudes, self-efficacy, and quality of life. Pretest, posttest, and follow-up measurements were obtained for experimental and control groups from May to August 2021.
Histamine is a biogenic amine that poses a potential threat to public health due to its toxicological effects. In this study, we identified histamine-binding peptides by screening a random 12-mer peptide library, employing a novel biopanning approach that excluded histidine-binding sequences in the final round. This additional step enhanced the selectivity of the peptides and prevented interference from histidine during detection.

However, the mechanisms that drive persistent lung neutrophilia and tissue deterioration in CF are not well characterized. Starting from the observation that, in patients with CF, c-c motif chemokine receptor 2 (CCR2) monocytes/macrophages are abundant in the lungs, we investigate the interplay between monocytes/macrophages and neutrophils in perpetuating lung tissue damage in CF.

Materials And Methods: Thirty-nine patients with axSpA were randomly allocated to two groups as exercise group (n = 20, 11 males) and control group (n = 19, 12 males). The exercise group performed a progressive home-based cervical stabilization exercise program, while the control group did not receive any exercise intervention.
