During the period 2005 to 2012, a total of 340 consultations (phone calls and/or visits) regarding possible decompression illness were recorded at the two hospitals with recompression chambers in the Västra Götaland region, Sweden. An analysis of the data showed a trend towards fewer consultations and recompression treatments. A similar trend has been observed in many other countries.
