Spatial Dynamics of T- and B-Cell Responses Predicts Clinical Outcome of Resectable and Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma.

Purpose: Immunotherapies have led to a paradigm shift in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Studies have revealed the single-cell catalogs of tumor-infiltrating immune cells and the trajectories of their differentiation. Nevertheless, the spatial distribution of these immune cells with distinct phenotypes in the tumor microenvironment and their clinicopathologic significance in resectable and unresectable HCCs are still largely unclear.

Oxaliplatin Added to Fluoropyrimidine/Bevacizumab as Initial Therapy for Unresectable Metastatic Colorectal Cancer in Older Patients: A Multicenter, Randomized, Open-Label Phase III Trial (JCOG1018).

Purpose: Doublet chemotherapy with fluoropyrimidine (FP) and oxaliplatin (OX) plus bevacizumab (BEV) is a standard regimen for unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer (MCRC). However, the efficacy of adding OX to FP plus BEV (FP + BEV) remains unclear for older patients, a population for whom FP + BEV is standard. We aimed to confirm the superiority of adding OX to FP + BEV for this population.

Unravelling nicotinic receptor and ligand features underlying neonicotinoid knockdown actions on the malaria vector mosquito .

With the spread of resistance to long-established insecticides targeting malaria vectors, understanding the actions of compounds newly identified for vector control is essential. With new commercial vector-control products containing neonicotinoids under development, we investigate the actions of 6 neonicotinoids (imidacloprid, thiacloprid, clothianidin, dinotefuran, nitenpyram and acetamiprid) on 13 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) subtypes produced by expression of combinations of the Ag1, Ag2, Ag3, Ag8 and Ag1 subunits in oocytes, the orthologues of which we have previously shown to be important in neonicotinoid actions. The presence of the Ag2 subunit reduces neonicotinoid affinity for the mosquito nAChRs, whereas the Ag3 subunit increases it.

Two cases of metastatic colorectal cancer with prolonged liver injury following capecitabine combination chemotherapy.

We present two cases of metastatic colorectal cancer where a liver injury developed while receiving capecitabine. In both cases, the patients were switched from oral capecitabine to a continuous intravenous 5-fluorouracil infusion and were able to continue treatment without a relapse of hepatotoxicity.
