Tooth numbering with polygonal segmentation on periapical radiographs: an artificial intelligence study.

Objectives: Accurately identification and tooth numbering on radiographs is essential for any clinicians. The aim of the present study was to validate the hypothesis that Yolov5, a type of artificial intelligence model, can be trained to detect and number teeth in periapical radiographs.

Materials And Methods: Six thousand four hundred forty six anonymized periapical radiographs without motion-related artifacts were randomly selected from the database.

Characterization and functional insights of the novel RC-type plasmid pAnox1 from Anoxybacillus gonensis 05S15.

The plasmid pAnox1, isolated from Anoxybacillus gonensis 05S15, was sequenced and characterized as a circular, double-stranded DNA molecule of 1592 base pairs with a GC content of 40.01 %. Despite its cryptic nature and small genome, bioinformatic analyses identified conserved motifs associated with replication-related proteins, though BLAST searches revealed no significant homology with other plasmids.

Purpose: This study aims to demonstrate the performance of machine learning algorithms to distinguish clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa) from clinically insignificant prostate cancer (ciPCa) in prostate bi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using radiomics features.

Methods: MRI images of patients who were diagnosed with cancer with histopathological confirmation following prostate MRI were collected retrospectively. Patients with a Gleason score of 3+3 were considered to have clinically ciPCa, and patients with a Gleason score of 3+4 and above were considered to have csPCa.
